The question is if this is covered under powertrain warranty. I have a sneaking suspicion that it is not. I see you are still under the bumper-to-bumper, correct?
Mine was covered under powertrain

I have a similar situation happening with my ported 350 IM. I been searching on how to replace the shaft as I still have my stock IM and will use it for parts if I can figure out how to replace the shaft.

Mine is in the shop right now getting the intake manifold replaced for the second time. First one was ~25K, the second at 70K.

Hi all,

New '17 GT owner here, loving the knowledge and post quality of this forum!

I had the car for 3 days before the CEL came on with P0300 and P0308.

It's done 11k miles and is having the manifold replaced right now under warranty (1 month of original warranty left)

Presumably it will be replaced with the revised FR3Z-9424-N part, but do we know exactly what the revision was, and whether it's going to last longer than the original part?

UK consumer rights mean I have 30 days to return the car for a refund and I need to decide if I want to keep it.

I bought a 3 year extended ford warranty with the car, but really don't want to be driving around a ticking financial timebomb after those 3 years (I planned to keep the car for at least 5 years)

TIA,

Jim.

Updating just to help anyone out. 2017 S550 65k miles. P2005 and 2007 thought it was the IMRCs. Had them replaced and still a little rough under 2K RPM. Cracked intake manifold

Any pics to post of the crack - and where it's actually cracking? Can it be fixed with JB Weld?

so here’s an update to this crazy situation: I had the PP3 installed yesterday. The guy who did it doesn’t think my intake manifold was cracked. I’m going to ask the dealer how they determined my intake manifold was cracked and go from there…..

Following. I'd like to see where/how these are cracking as well.

If it was not cracked - was the IMRC shaft broken?

Does it have the same problem with the new intake manifold?
No problems at all with the new intake manifold. Runs smooth as butter. I didn’t investigate the old manifold any further as I’d just get angry at the dealer for telling me it was cracked. It’s all fixed and over as far as I’m concerned. The guy who did my PP3 install said no lean codes usually means the manifold isn’t cracked….. just getting lots of different info from different people
