Dang I have a Corsa X and think it sounds great. Do you think they all have this bad of quality?
If you think it sounds great I’d think that is all that matters 😄 I’m after the GT350R sound and after watching 100’s of clips it seems like of the available x-pipes the Shifteck most closely aligns.

Correct, the factory True-X by design is restrictive and in my opinion is used for only two reasons;
1- Achieving a certain exhaust pitch
2- Sound attenuation
A Sweep-X or Size on Size H will flow a higher exhaust CFM vs. a True-X.
I love my OEM Stock exhaust .. messing with this stuff makes me nervous.
But to each his own...

I actually have the old single one, just posted for op to compare what difference would be to stock. interesting to see it cut apart though. I thought these welds on my single x were ok, little porosity but it’s not food grade tubing. And my daughter could do better than this as well. lol. The ladies have great hand eye dexterity for tig.
I do see a bit of that mismatch like your showing on the cut one.

Will this make the car louder than it already is or just tone?

I’m pretty sure even if you’ve done existing exhaust work. If you are to put on the shifteck x pipe instead of the OEM x pipe you will have more noise. Here is a direct comparison stock vs shifteck. Hope it helps!

I don't want to rain on anyone's parade but the R exhaust and the regular exhaust are basically the same. Yes, the gt350 may drop in size, but it's obviously not restricting anything. The HP numbers are the same. As far as sound? There are many variables that will change the sound from which type delete kit you buy, to fuel you use. Even inlet air temperature seems to change the sound. Just pick the resonator delete you like and install it. Worrying about the size of the pipe is worthless.

Of course, "IMO".

It's a simple task. You can always keep the resonators if you want to change it back. It's worth it.

Thanks but to me it’s not worth the increase or change in tone… I like how it sounds now and the just don’t want to do anything to mess with how the car was designed.. I know it’s not like removing the headers.. or anything radical but I respect everyone’s choices .. I would just rather not mess with anything

Just a quick video of MBRP.

Edit: I'm not tuned. The @Mike@SolerEngr Soler throttle body takes a second to find itself at idle. Well worth it.

Yes and no. The R exhaust is actually 2.75" aft of the X and it also doesn't have resonators. It's been years but I seem to remember an approximate 10whp difference when 350s were dyno'd against Rs.

Edit: 2.75" on my 2020 350R. I have no idea if the exhaust was the same on prior years.

4hp at the wheels. Nothing to do with the exhaust.

You were at the dyno with me?
Might have well as been.

From LMR

  • GT350: 467 hp @ 7200 rpm (at the wheels)
  • GT350R: 471 hp @ 7200 rpm (at the wheels)

"This difference is most likely because of the rotating mass difference with the wheels we touched. As we stated earlier, these engines are the same with an output of 526 horsepower and 429 lb/ft. of torque. After the dyno results between the two, 4 horsepower is not a difference-maker. The weight indeed is showing to be, however, more on the track than on paper."

Again, sorry to burst anyone's bubble.

No bubbles to burst, my friend. That LMR test is another data point to add to what I have.

This aimed at exhaust or there’s no real difference between a 350 and an R.
