Those who’ve done the install, how’s your heat shield holding up? It didn’t seem like a flush fit to me..
If you are talking about the dynamat, you can trim that to fit. Or just roll it around corners and affix as needed. It’s pretty flexible/sticky stuff. My sheet was bigger than necessary, so i covered every part i could to cut down on possible NVH while i was under there.

Video instructions are excellent. The ease of placing the rubber boot over the shifter is highly misleading, though.
Hah! It gets easier if you have to take it off and put it back on a couple of times. I had to readjust my lateral limit a couple of times, and by the third time it was just like the video shows. First time through, not so much.

The quickest and easiest way to install a MGW is by lowering the exhaust and driveshaft.
You don’t even need to remove the top center counsel, only the boot.

I had mine professionally installed by a mustang shop. Picked it up today and wow is all I can say. Take a little getting used to but very precise.

I’m one of the few, maybe only, that has removed the v1 shifter and replaced it with a v2. There are fun jobs, but this isn’t one of them. That 10mm bolt that affixes the arm to the transmission is a bitch.

I haven’t driven the v2 yet as I need to adjust the reverse lockout. My v1 lockout was perfect from the factory, but my v2 needs some messing with and I ran out of time today.

Did you lower the rear of the transmission? Some say they have done the install without doing that and I can't imagine it. Once lowered though it is pretty easy to access that bolt. It is more a matter of visualization than anything, as you have to feel what you can't see.

I had to. No way around the drive shaft, and it was hard to reach the bolt even with it lowered!
