Yeah right now my car is also surging a bit under non WOT throttle but seems pretty good at WOT.

I did dyno the car right after the install on the very first base tune and put down 422 rwhp and 361 rwtq peak but that was on 93 octane and the tune was obviously off and I have not had a chance to test any of the tune revisions provided by Lund...

I am also running 47lb injectors and currently on a flex fuel tune running E85 it had the same symptoms on 93 octane as well....

I will be doing some data longing on the dyno etc soon to provide Lund to see if they can dial it in a bit more. I am sure with time they will get all the bugs worked out.

My current mod list is: Air Raid CAI, Gibson Cat-Back, GT350 Intake Manifold, GT350 TB, Ford Racing 47lb injectors.

I do have Stainless Power catted headers waiting to be installed but not sure when I will get around to putting them on.
Can't wait to see the results of your long tubes, that will be my exact setup with the different (steeda) intake. Please let us know the results once you get the long tubes on the dyno

I have eliminated the surge completely, finally. You guys can have your tuners contact me to find out how if you want, if they don't get it for you.:)

Thanks for being a guinea pig with Lund on this and sharing your whole experience so far. Now I'm not so impatient that I haven't been able to get mine yet. I apparently ordered the day Ford quit shipping due to packaging problems. When you "ride the bleeding edge, it's easy to get cut." I've bled a lot over the years, but apparently not this time. :D

I've heard a local guy from south Atlanta metro has been having the same problem with the same setup/tune. Jon will get it worked out though, I'm sure. Hopefully by the time I get mine.

Thanks again!
That is all...

Great! Do you use sct or hp tuner for Tuning? Any hint for those who tune their own car?

I use HPT. What cured it is actually pretty simple. You can PM me if you want or I can look at your tune for you and "make a suggestion."

That test is BS. Notice how they turned the intake tube up with filter in the air? Close the hood for real numbers.... period.

Yeah, i'm currently running the stock tb with a mmr adapter until this get hammered out, my wife was a little upset that my new car that i promised i wouldnt modify was "jerky"...but i have datalogged and ensured all parameters were as close to my best datalog on the gt350 tb, and the oem tb actually flowed the exact same numbers (maf lb/min, and actually posted slightly better numbers, but humidity can affect that as well, something the ecu cant measure), the only difference in running the stock tb is a slight decrease in throttle response and a total lack of surge...huge plus for the mild decrease in response

They used open air filters for all of them so closing the hood won't make a difference between the tests.

What worried me is when they installed the regular GT intake it made a load more power and torque under 6000rpm compared to GT 350 intake unless I am reading it wrong.

I really do hope that the 350 intake does not lose power/torque to regular intake on our 5.0 GT cars.

I had a question about whether the TB was that much of a restriction or The gt350 manifold just being so much bigger was everything. This answered it.

My other question for you was I saw you took great photos with measurements, did you happen to measure the size of the holes when the IMRC was closed? If not for the GT350 manifold do you still have your stock manifold and can you measure the dimensions of the hole with IMRC closed?

What worried me is when they installed the regular GT intake it made a load more power and torque under 6000rpm compared to GT 350 intake unless I am reading it wrong.

Everything about the gt350 manifold is either equal to or better than the stock manifold as far as gains.

I can get those measurements, from the stocker, they did look almost identical in size to the gt350

Alright first and foremost please excuse my disgusting car, but the dyno was my priority today.

The shop I went to has a notoriously low reading dyno (look at that tq..whew!), but it is a tuning tool, and my baseline and this run were done on the same dyno, using STD correction for both runs so as to keep as much consistency as possible.

Runfile 4 (baseline):

Steeda Restrictorless intake
X pipe
replaced stock mufflers with magnaflow (stock exhaust pipe)

Runfile 2:

Same as above with addition of GT350 IM and Throttle Body

running a Lund FF tune, but both runs were on 93

Here's the video:

Here's the Sheet:

[/IMG]

Thats a peak to peak gain of 36 whp and a 56 whp gain at my current peak of 7500 rpm (thought I had it set to 7600), you will notice the car still making power so once I up the ante to 7800-8000 rpm the gains will be even more substantial.

You will notice no losses any where but gains across the board of 5-10 hp until 6k, so with that said this car needs longtubes to further utilize this manifold.........anyone want to donate or possibly sponsor a set (catted, as I do have emissions testing yearly here) so we can continue this research project...let's get this going...lol

All previous photos relating to this manifold are located at

Some Installation notes:

[/IMG]

The Red Circle is showing the Changes made to the hose that comes stock on the GT350 manifold, it has to be lengthened and I added a 90 to help it sit more square with the port on the CAI.

The yellow circle is showing the new vacuum feed for the Brakes, instead of going into that cluster on the stock manifold, you need to connect the vacuum feed for the brake booster directly to the manifold port

The blue square is showing the purge valve wiring, I just undid the harness and pulled as much wiring as possible to ease the tension.

The orange square towards the back is showing the CMCV solenoid connectors, upon manifold removal you will see the harness that attached to the back of the manifold originally, and notice that these wires exit the harness on the drivers side, again I undid the harness wrap and pulled the wiring back over to the passenger side again to ease tension on the wiring.

What I forgot to highlight was on the bottom of the CAI tube where a vacuum connection exists for the stock manifold, this is no longer needed with the gt350 so I just pulled the connector out and plugged the port on the intake tube.

The part number on the box from ford for the tb is

GR3Z-9E926-A
A few questions. What tires are you using, are you spinning badly at a hard launch and have you tracked quarter mile times yet?
