WOW and I was just about to place and order for this through Levittown, guess i'm holding off until they get their crap together.
Just got a note from Benny at Levittown. Ford has stopped shipping all manifolds until the packaging problem is corrected. No ETA as of today on when shipments will resume. But... I'd rather wait and have one hopefully delivered intact. Couldn't pass up the price. Still a bummer.

That is all...

I've ordered two things from Ford Racing for my current car, and the packaging was wildly different. The Ford Racing shocks and struts came packaged great-everything was in a separate box or bag inside the main package, and nothing was damaged. The manual transmission cooler scoop, however, was not. If you don't know what it looks like, it's basically a metal scoop that mounts under the transmission, with two "arms" to bolt to the frame. One entire arm of the thing was sticking out of the box when it arrived, and I was just thrown in a box with nothing else to protect it during shipping.

I think it's a vendor/supplier issue. Ford doesn't make a lot of their parts. I worked for a Tier 1 supplier some years ago. When we made service, rather than production parts, we packaged them (properly!). Your post confirms this is still going on... the difference in suppliers. The folks at Ford need to better ride herd on their suppliers. A shame really, paying over $1,000 for parts and they arrive unusable. Not even sure the shipper would honor a damage claim with no packing in the box.

Manufacturing should strive for 3 things: Better, faster, cheaper. It seems like "better" has been totally left out on this, as well as many other things bought today.

That is all...

They didnt package my rear badgeless decklid the best. I thought for sure it was going to have scratches on the finish because of their lack (none at all) of protection plastic film on it.

Waldorf that is correct, everything damn near is contracted out to companies that become an OE supplier. Sometimes contracting out to the better price suppliers vs another bites the ford, chevy etc in the ass. Its only when they chose to ignore that its an issue and makes certain car brands with ignoring due to being known as unreliable. I work in the industry as a master tech. Im happy to see ford didnt let this go on very long.

Mine came EXACTLY the same way... NO plastic film, and NO packing. Just threw it in the box and sealed it up. Luckily, it was fine.

With the GT350 throttle body/intake combo, if the throttle body is already mounted, that makes one end of the package heavy, I would think. Don't know, as I haven't gotten mine yet, and hopefully, when I do, it will have about 50 cents worth of packing in it and not be damaged. Hell, crumpled up newspaper wouldn't even cost that much. :D

Ford will raise hell with the supplier, and the supplier will promise not to do it again... until the next time.

That is all...

Oh, mine came with more than yours then. Mine came with some multiple inches think tougher malleable foam blocky thing to keep it from moving around a ton. But it pushed my panel over to those overkill cardboard staples.

You also missed my edit on that post.

My deck lid panel came in a Ford Racing box with white plastic film on it, wrapped in bubble wrap, then held in place by large foam inserts. I was actually impressed given some of the horror stories I read about poor packaging prior to me ordering mine.

Looks like I'll be installing this before the end of the year LOL , throwing a random question out there, since a lot of us will be installing this intake does anyone know if eventually we will be able to swap in an actual gt350 tachometer into our Guage cluster?

I've been thinking the same thing, it really should work as a plug n play upgrade since the dials are electronic, is are matter of getting a set from somewhere.

I wonder if it would be possible to make the GT350 gauges work with the MyColor option on the premium cars?

That's a good question, GT350 guys can confirm if my color is incorporated in the car, if not I think we may be able to tinker with the board.

Were you able to weigh the standard GT IM/TB vs the GT350 combo?
