not sure where the snotty attitude is coming from? i never said i was. I am very small, i get one shelby a year. either way, if they are selling at invoice they are losing the 1000 enrollment fee unless they are making up for it somewhere else. math is math.

Didn't mean to come across snotty, my apologies. They plan on making all their money back and then some on the first unit. I have to wait a little. The only catch.

Only Mechanics with GT350 Certification would be able to do any work on the car, I would think. THE 5.2l fpc ENGINE, along with other mechanical aspects special to this model of car. You guy's are going to need some of your Mechanics Certified to work on these vehicles along with any special tools that might be required, (more money) along with that 1k they want for program participation. Just a thought. It might be different now. Not trying to tell you guy's your business. No disrespect Intended. :)

Yeah, that's pretty stupid. There are a lot of other cars you could buy for that price.

I'm very interested in a GT350 and luckily I am in Canada so they can't sell above MSRP using ADM and trickery like that.

Has anyone heard about how the Canadian allocation?

The dealer must have thought he had a sucker on the hook. Maybe it's because you're calling asking for a car that isn't available for sale yet and the price and options haven't even been formally announced. Not trying to razz you too much but it's obvious if you are calling dealerships this early you really, really want the car.

Actually there are no special service tools. And it will likely only be a sales course not a tech course.

It's an entirely new engine I don't see how there is not some course with this new car

It's the same principle as any dohc v8. They will likely address it in the yearly gasoline engine performance tests.

5k is insane. Why they need such a huge deposit?
For 75k I am getting z06 not gt350

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
My local dealer has a Z06 and is asking $30k ADM

Makes sense to me and I feel exactly the same way. I guess what I'm saying is the dealer was hoping you were that guy. :)

If I were a millionaire the GT350 wouldn't make the list of cars I would want.
Now this would be more like it. :D
I would probably buy cars just to drive them for a month or two and then sell and buy the next. Plus I'd have some I'd keep. I'd like to think I would still want a GT350, at least to try if nothing else.

First off, it takes more than a millionaire to comfortably purchase that car...most people wont care about having the first gt350 and will wait...unless, production is truly restricted and this becomes a real investment piece. Customers who paid 50k adm on gt40s a decade ago are looking pretty smart right now. I don't think that will be the case for the gt350 though. I'll wait for msrp

The first lot of Ford GT 's with full amenities were sold at ADM's that raped the buyers. MSRP was 150k on these and the dealers were getting upwards of 250k for the first ones. Literally putting the buyers on the losing end. Towards the end of their production they were selling closer to MSRP.

But the car even though it is still valued at a little over the original MSRP today...is not the real big investment you're eluding to. The ones selling today for 250k or around that ...aren't selling. They're sitting and sitting and no one is buying them. The people who paid to be the first to own them... Lost out big time.

The Collector car Market is entirely subjective. The price is only set by what people are willing to pay for it. And no one seems to be clamoring to get one.

The GT 350 is just a nice car. It's not going to be a spectacular collectible even in the "R" form. It will be a head turner like the Boss 302 or the GT 500. And will likely retain its value at close to MSRP for a long while until that car collector bubble pops. Then no one is going to buy them and the market for them will dictate prices closer to what they are really worth... Just like the 2005 GT..... You'll grow old and wrinkled before you find a buyer at prices above what the original selling prices were. Unless you find some dumbass with more money than brains to buy it.

That's scary. No Tech certification for the car. I doubt that. Sales course, LOL. I bet they never even read the brochure. I have seldom ever found a sale's associate, that knew much about the car's they where selling. The Tech's and dealer service dept. "read" (Mechanic's Shop) will most likely need specialized tools, Service Manual's etc. for the GT car's. That said, I would think that the 5.2L FPC alone will need the Tech's to take a certification course to even get near the GT350 / GT350R's. Tech's some time's have to update their tools for new model year Car's . There's always some kind of new crap required to work on them.
The point I was trying to make was that in addition to that 1k participation program buy in, that there would be other cost to consider. At least that would be my take on it. I was a Tech. for Chrysler, Dodge, Plymouth, Jeep back in the day. ( Show's My Age) lol . Might be different now but I doubt it. No Disrespect Intended.
