dude, you don't know what you are talking about. Trying to justify that you don't have a PP1?
PP1 is MANDATORY if you want to take your car to the track ( the ones with turns)
It all depend how you use your car. Some people have no need for performance car, just want/need the look

this is what IM saying for what you pay ford for what you get, you can do way more in custom. The brembos ...eh... we have had the brakes and rotors off both cars and there isnt that much difference and when driving his are actually touchier (the brembos). as for stopping power again eh worth 5k??? not really. The brakes on non and pp1 are not really that big of a difference the oem are rather beefy. I cant speak to the torsen all i can say is does it make a driving difference... again like i said we drive each others all the time... I would be hard pressed to be able to point point a difference... the torsen and brembos in my opinion are more name drops for cash then anything. again all personal opinion im not here to tell anyone they are right or wrong cause no one is :) if your happy with what ya got great. IM just giving a counter point from 2 people who are less than impressed with the cost compared to what you get :)

Ford has raised the price of the performance pack option to $5200 in 2020. In 2018 it was only $4000. Nobody pays (with a brain) retail for new cars so your not paying the full pop for the option from the get go. Mine was over 7k off sticker. I bought the pp1 because I actually like the wheels and tires and the appearance adds on’s. I do not regret buying the pp1 and would never own another S550 without it. JMO...
I agree with this. Sucks they are raising the price of the PP1.
Pp2 wasn’t necessary nor was mag ride. I drove a mag ride car but it didn’t stand out vs the car I purchased. Happy with my choice of options and the B&O was worth it.

One thing to note, in MY19 (my car), the PP1 + MR = $5690 (MSRP), and while it's a bummer the PP1 went up (PP1 in my '16 GT vert was ~$2500), I think the MR option is almost __underpriced__, so when you look at the total price for both, I think it's reasonable. Especially when people are getting $8K-10K off a new car, and the combined option is "free" or more like $4400-4500 when the discount is applied across all options.

Also, just an interesting point to consider:

https://www.mustang6g.com/forums/th...cooling-system-between-base-gt-and-pp.137104/

The cooling, and even things that aren't really mentioned as part of the PP1 like how the airflow is handled, definitely make a notable difference in some use cases :)

Mandatory? Sounds like someone is trying to justify their own purchase.
You guys are funny. Do some research and learn why only the pp with the Brembo brakes can do track work. Hint... rotors are at the top
You can’t even start to compare aggressive street or canyons driving to road racing or open track

I get we all have budgets when buying cars. I had 3 different dealers with the exact same unit pp1 base 300a cars to negotiate against. Again, I knew the tune would mimic the “drag mode” like on all 301a and up cars. 34k was a deal imo back in June 18 on an almost 42k list car. Plus I always shop the deal over checking every box on the options list... ;).

And btw, I only drive my pp at the track and to go there and back and have modified the suspension quite a bit

Plus once owning a pp car (in auto) it would be hard to go back imo. ;).

exactly.... for everyday use like most use it. PP is not worth the money. as for track, autocross... tell me any serious autocrosser track user who hasn't already striped the car of oem parts and swapped out aftermarket?
A lot of them - street classes - in which people are as serious as in any other ones - have very little mod allowance.

Maybe the way you drive. Inexperience is the leading cause of brake fade :inspect:, bully!

Ah, you paid for the perf pack, only to take off/replace the perf pack parts. That's exactly why I didn't get it, no point on paying any amount of money (discounted or otherwise) for something I'm just going to mod out.
We can have different opinions but at least make an effort to have some arguable points based on facts instead of spewing non-sense
The brakes of the base gt use rotors that can’t be air cooled therefore overheat in track
The pp package has a lot of stuff, Torsten, extra cooling, bracing, brake ducting, electronic, great brakes that are needed on a race track and that doesn’t need to be changed. Wheels/tires and suspension, yes. But still a lot cheaper to start with a pp than trying to duplicate all what you need
You’re right I’m very inexperienced because I never learned anything from all my years of racing, including trans-am and running an race/open track club

What the fuck did you just fucking say about me, you little bitch? I'll have you know I graduated top of my class in the Corso Pilota, and I've been involved in numerous secret raids on 5th Gear, and I have over 300 confirmed hand brake turns. I am trained in double clutching and I'm the top tuner in my entire community college auto shop class. You are nothing to me but just another pig. I will wipe you the fuck out with speed the likes of which has never been seen before from a Honda Civic, mark my fucking words. You think you can get away with saying that shit to me over the Internet? Think again, fucker. As we speak I am contacting my secret network of Mazda Miata Owners Clubs across the USA and your license plate is being traced right now so you better prepare for the cruise, faggot. The convoy that wipes out the pathetic little car you call your Chrysler. You’re fucking totaled, kid. I can be anywhere, anytime, and I can overtake you in over seven hundred ways, and that’s just with my first two gears. Not only am I extensively trained in drifting, but I have access to the entire box set of Fast & Furious Blu-rays I got for Christmas last year and I will use it to its full extent to wipe your miserable ass off the face of the track, you little shit. If only you could have known what unholy retribution your little “clever” comment was about to bring down upon you, maybe you would have held your fucking tongue. But you couldn't, you didn't, and now you’re paying the price, you goddamn idiot. I will shift fury all over you and your automatic transmission. Zoom zoom, bitch.

Man, I've been waiting to use that for years :cwl:

Stop flexing, you made a hyperbolic statement about the brakes and then backpedaled. The perf pack isn't "mandatory" for track use. Helpful, yes, required, far from it. If PP2's are overheating after a couple laps, then the PP1 isn't any more "track ready" than the GT. Mods beat out stock every day.
Have you ever seen a track cartoon called "flat out" ?
you remind me of the character

Enjoy

I think you should buy what ever makes you happy as a every day car. If you are buying for the track buy what ever you feel you need and do upgrades!
I have a PP1 didn't buy for any other reason than I liked the way it looked with wheels and spoiler. The package was $3,995.00, I wasn't looking for magneride but couldn't find one with digital dash and active exhaust that didn't have magneride. The window sticker was $49,510.00 did I pay that hell no not even close. Even with taxes tag and all the dealer fees it was not even close to that. Is this the car I wanted NO I wanted a GT350 but was to cheap to buy it. The car sits in the garage and only drive it when picking up my son at school or weekends
So is the PP1 worth the extra money? I have no clue for every one else but for me I love the look of the wheels and spoiler so it was for me. Most people don't care about the active exhaust and digital dash but I love it.

Dude thank you... it’s been years since I’ve watched those. Hahaha.

FWIW - when I was in the market for my Stang, I drove nearly an equal amount of PP bs non PP cars. PP car felt more solid in any situation. The Torsen, additional stiffness and Brembos truly make the car. Not that a base GT isn’t capable and doesn’t feel like a tight ride, but those changes all work together quite well. I LOVE these brakes.

And the Brembos and Torsen, but those depend on more what you're going for. It's performance for a road course or HPDE, not drag strip. Regardless, that 5k difference could go a long way in custom modding.
It has gotten to that point - when first out the PP (15-17) was a great deal, even as they increased the price each model year. On my '16 the PP package was $2,495 and was still a good deal. Now...not so sure
