The S550 has the lightest clutch of any car I have ever driven. If you can walk, you should be able to operate it with no problems.

Save the manuals.
This...I'll sell you my PP springs cheap if you insist...

Just run in FSP! Plus you get to play with lowering springs and an actual rotatable square tire setup.

You must have never worked in a assembly plant or have any knowledge of what it takes to build cars on a line.
Correct. Never have. Don't care to either. Have been an estimator in combination auto repair and collision shop in college though and know my way around a Mitchell manual.

I have never worked on an automobile assembly line or any manufacturing line.
But assembly wise, what could have so special or complex about building the 50th Anniversary PP GT automatic in 2015 that cannot be duplicated again?
It's the same assembly line and are the parts are readily available.
Ford is losing out on customers that desire this build.
I certainly would have purchased a PP GT automatic if it was available!!
Perhaps someone can enlighten me.

And you purchased what ? How is this is losing customers ?

What baffles me is why all these auto people really need PP (I know - none of my business), in this thread dude at least had some arguments but the rest seems they want it for bragging rights and Brembo stickers...

There plenty of "these auto people" that understand and the appreciate the PP upgrades.
I'm too old to care about about bragging rights and stickers.
Transmission choice should not have to dictate the availability of a factory performance package.
Get yourself "unbaffled".

If I were in charge of Ford I'd make the PP available to auto buyers because in my opinion it is still way too soft to be considered a high-performance option. It's better than base, but still not nearly good enough and requires upgrades as many have discovered.

On top of the PP I'd also make a Track Package with focused upgrades in all areas and available only with a manual transmission.

Hey, The PP package is a good deal. Regardless of whether or not you want to shift your own gears, a lot of folks would like the handling upgrades and brake upgrades. Also, oil pressure is a good thing to monitor whether you have a manual or not, so it should be on the dash and not hidden in a menu. An upgraded radiator? Well, anytime any car runs cooler, that's a good thing! And tell me honestly, Who doesn't like big wheels and tires both for looks and performance. So, It's not about stickers or bragging rights folks, Well, maybe for some misguided individuals, but really It's about value.

Hell yeah I want Brembo stickers, and what goes with them. My car has the best damned brakes under my hooves since I raced enduro karts.

CADILLAC UNBUNDLES OPTION PACKAGES

Yesterday we reported on how Cadillac boosted transaction prices by an average of $5,000 per car last year. One of the ways they figured out how to do that is by unbundling option packages. Automakers like to bundle optional equipment because that makes the assembly process simpler. But that can also make those packages pretty expensive. For example, if you wanted a panoramic sunroof on your Cadillac, the mandatory upgrades and package could come close to $10,000. That was too big of a step for most most customers who simply would not buy it. So now Cadillac is unbundling its options, and wow, is it working. On the Cadillac CTS alone transaction prices shot up by $8,000. In the luxury segment, at least, you can afford to be a little bit more inefficient at the assembly plant by letting your customers buy cars the way they want them.

You can get an auto GT with the performance pack... If you buy a 50th anniversary edition 2015 limited model. A couple come up slightly used on eBay for MSRP

Does anyone in here actually know if the performance package cooler keeps the auto cool during spirited driving?

Anyone?

If it fails to keep it within comfortable operating temperatures, does it really matter?

I understand why they bundle stuff, but it pisses off the consumer. On the other hand, Ford would've made a little more money off me if they'd allowed me to pick and choose. For instance, if I could've gotten the Performance Pack with 3.55 gears, I would have. But since I couldn't, I now have to piece-meal together my version of the Perf. Pack.

I probably would have gone GT Premium if I could've downgraded to cloth and also done away with the heated/cooled seats.

Just wishin' it were like the old days.....
