SO FORD! Once again you have denied us a 2017 GT Mustang with the top of the line Performance Package with the automatic. :frusty:
Just move over to Germany or some other EU countries.
We do get the Performance Package with all EU mustangs stock, no matter if manual or automatic . :headbang:

But I have to admit, Ford stayed "fair" by denying us other useful things you folks over the pond get:

We never get memory function for the electric seats,
we don't get BLIS,
we don't get full 35W (D3S) HID lights but only the weaker 25W (D8S) version (because Ford cut out a cleaning device for the headlamps and an automatic height adjustment for the headlamps, which are mandatory with 35W HID in the EU)
we don't get hood vents, and no tie bar
we don't get shining tribars in the headlamps
and no sequential turn signals
We don't have the possibility to choose the final gear ratio (always 1:3,55 except ecoboost manual which comes with the long 1:3,73)
and there are also no stock 20" wheels available

So in the end, we're united by the possibility to buy this one:

I think the op is right on with this. And it's not because of health troubles. It's because of everything has to be a package now. I liked it when you wanted a new car you would run down the list and check off everything you wanted and come back in a month or two and have a custom ordered car waiting for you.

It's called leaning the production process. Everyone complains about waiting weeks to a couple of months already, imagine if close to half the production was custom ordered... That's why there is after market. This is the 60's anymore.

SO FORD! Once again you have denied us a 2017 GT Mustang with the top of the line Performance Package with the automatic. I have BAD knees and can no longer drive a standard shift Mustang. I compete in Regional and National level autocross with SCCA and have for more than 40+ Years, and I hate that you will not give me the CHANCE to compete because of your stupid rules on ordering cars! I had a 1967 Mustang GT Fastback, S Code car that I loved, then I could handle a 4 speed. Then I had a 2004 Mustang SVT Cobra, that I didn't enjoy driving because of the extremely HEAVY ClUTCH and your stupid rules won't allow me to order the car that I want and need to be competitive in my class. COME ON, this is a simple matter, ALLOW the Performance Package option with the Automatic. Please ALL members, join in this is just nuts the way FORD limits their ordering. :frusty:
You've been doing it that long and your only chance to "compete" is the PP package? You should be blowing people out of the water who have PP's if you have that much experience... If you want to "compete" that bad, why even get the Mustang in the first place?

Man, the last three seasons of SCCA has created some frantic owners. My uncle said it reminded him of the 60's.

FS popularity has exploded!!!

Can you not add all the PP bits to the auto and still compete in FS?
No. But you could in STP.

The S550 has the lightest clutch of any car I have ever driven. If you can walk, you should be able to operate it with no problems.

Save the manuals.

Because EB performance pack is really that much of a performance pack as it is on GT.

How about Torsen with 3.71 gearing or a strut tower brace ? You get most of the pieces yes, but not all.

Ford should offer the PP for the automatic. They should also let you get any wheels offered for that MY if that's what you want. They are building the car on the line. All the parts are right there. What's is the difference if say you want PP wheels on an auto, or a GT350 steering wheel. The assembly worker reaches over to the left bin instead of the right one? I don't see the big deal. Or even a great line efficiency loss.

How will they even know if you put pp springs and parts on your car?

Because that's not how car buying/selling works unfortunately. Things are put into packages for exclusivity. Also, while they may be building a car on a line, checking PP vs. non-PP is a lot easier than a car that could have one or more of 10 different custom parts from just one package.

You must have never worked in a assembly plant or have any knowledge of what it takes to build cars on a line.
