For what you get, the PP is a steal, see post #7 - I even held off on a '15, spent a little more on a '16 since that was the first year the PP was offered on the convertible.

It really changes the character of the car, the 3:73s are a blast (note that also includes a TORSEN rear), and I'm a fan of the cosmetic changes (wheels, dash, etc)

I figured, right out of the box, no hassles, no installs, I have a better car, fully warranteed, and if I never do anything other than gas and maintenance, I've had a better experience. If I do go aftermarket on some components, it's a better starting point.

I even had mine transported from way out of state, to score the perfect car. I would not go "good enough" on a new car purchase, if I were going to do that, I'd just buy a year old.

You definitely notice the difference in handling and feel compared to the base car. I don't, however, know how much of a difference you'll notice in a convertible.

If I were you I would get a non-PP with the 3.55 axle option and put a few hundred into the car in chassis/suspension to get it how you want. The PP Brembos are excellent, but so are the base 14" brakes. If this all sounds appealing to you, I would start with:

FR Strut tower brace & K-brace kit
BMR CB005 cradle lockout kit
BMR or Steeda Sway Bars
IMHO the Brembo's are THE reason to get the PP - take a look at how much it would be to upgrade after the fact and you are 1/2 way to the PP cost. As others have said - find a good dealer and just order your car.

Test drive one of each. I have the vert and noticed a huge difference between the PP and the non-PP. The PP vert is far stiffer. It was a no-brainer for me.

OP Here. Thanks for all of your input! If I were going to order one, or could even find one that met all of my specs anywhere, I would definitely choose the PP for emotional and "feel" reasons. But, the "has most everything except PP" 2016 GT Convertible in yellow was worth going to drive, as I said.

I drove it, and I can tell it's not as stiff as the PP hard-tops I drove. But it didn't feel mushy or make me feel "Eww, I don't like the way this feels" when I was bending it around corners. I know the PP is something I would _want_. But, I don't _need_ it, the wife would likely rather not have it, the car is a daily driver which will be so in Maryland winters, etc etc. That, combined with the fact that this car was $9-10k under MSRP ($7-8k advertised and I got a little more), and it was enough to sell me on it.

So, I'm now a very proud owner of a car that is not exactly what I would have ordered, but is all that I need to meet my needs, and I'm giddy to have it!! 2016 GT Premium Convertible, Bright Yellow, 401A, and a few other optional goodies.

Ooh, now I need to update my profile and get some pics! :-)
