LOL not many things scare me driving in the snow, but a 500 in the snow would scare me. I don’t even know if I could find snow tires that big and anything skinnier won’t help with traction due to the HP. I do know a few guys that drive their C8’s all year round including in the snow, but even that car would be easier to drive in the snow than a 500.

But you better believe I’m going to drive the shit out of it from April to late October 😎.

Gonna be you in the 500 that first snowstorm. 😉

Thanks for all the replies. I feel better now about the color. Originally when I was in the process of finding the car, the guy who was in charge of finding it sent me some pics and honestly I didn't like it, but when they delivered it and I saw it in person, I thought it looked awesome, especially with the 5.0 badge in black with the black wheels. I've gotten a lot of positive comments when I'm out driving and people ask me about the car or say that it's a beautiful car. Now I tend to agree.

Yellow, Orange, Purple...they are all very love it or hate it color that depends on the buyer. However, don't let the dealer screw you because they claim it will be hard to sell due to the color.

I own a 2021 PP Grabber Yellow mustang and I been thinking about trading it for a new 2024 GT or DH. I see that ford has discontinued the Grabber Yellow color for 2024. I'm afraid that if I go to try to trade in my car I'm going to get screwed because of the color. Anyone have any thoughts on the matter?
I love yellow and orange but my friends in the car business say that they are hard to sell because people either love or hate it. So, yeah, they will probably hit you low on trade in since they are worried about having to sit on the car for months to find the right person. I'd definitely try Carvana and Carmax to get good trade numbers before going to your dealer.

The old paradigm flipped. Used to be common logic that the grey/silver cars were best for resale (because it appealed to more people or at least didn't turn away any potential buyers). There have been studies out for awhile now that demonstrates the more vibrant colors (like yellow or orange or lime green) tend to actually do better at resale, despite turning off a lot of buyers, the studies found that people who would want a yellow car actually seek out and are willing to pay more for their preference.

To answer your original question, you're going to get screwed as much as you allow for the trade in strategy/negotiations. In fact, they may even try to the old school "we'll have a harder time selling this color" nonsense. Be prepared with your own responses and valuations (from sites) and articles talking about my point above.

Remember, a dealership makes their money off 4 primary sources. 1) Sale of new/used vehicles. 2) value they can get off reduced purchases for used trade ins and turn around sales 3) Financing and kickbacks, sharing, rewards, incentives and 4) Parts/service. (They actually make money on the capital appreciation of the dealership property over long periods, but that's a discussion for another day).

My point is, you should negotiate the financing last (if you can) because if they think they'll make a bunch of money off you on the financing, they're less likely to stand firm on the sale price or your trade in value. The best way to buy a car is to finance it but pay it off immediately. That way they think they're going to get the distribution from the lender and they're more pliable on the sales price/trade in. Sometimes, if you can't get financing from one of their partner lenders, then they get virtually nothing on the financing so they have to make money somewhere (unless they're just trying to move volume for factory incentives/rewards or move something that's been sitting a long time).

All the Grabber colors are fantastic. I will be GT500 hunting soon (I’ve been casually hunting already but will be getting more serious closer to spring) and am exclusively looking for the Grabber colors. Grabber Yellow is probably my favorite color on the 500.

In general I would say the Grabber colors are desirable by those that understand they are limited run colors and have a heritage back to the late 60’s and early 70’s. If GY was available when I ordered my 2022, I would’ve ordered it.
Twister Orange here!

Yes.

This makes absolutely 0 sense.

I bought the Triple Yellow 2015 for the equipment (MT82, 5.0L, convertible), not the color.

I have grown to like it. I named her "Big Bird".

I did some data mining at the county I worked for to see if there was a bias about the color of the car in regards to speeding tickets. Yellow had highest percentage, Red was second, drab earth tones were at the bottom. Available data doesn't always identify vehicle color accurately, so the results probably are not 100% accurate. But, the point of doing this was to show our deputies that they had biases they were not aware of.

Take this with a grain of salt, but that's terrible logic. Just because there's a disparity with statistics, doesn't mean that there's automatically an implicit bias and starting off with that idea/conclusion is frankly spurious and wrong.

You'll find all sorts of demographic and categorical disparities in statistics, many of them even more pronounced than what you observed here.

For instance, I'm sure that stats would bear out that men are cited, arrested, charged, convicted, sentenced and imprisoned much more than women. Is that because the cops that enforce the laws are a bunch of man hating feminists? Are the courts a bunch of activist pro-women overlords who give women special treatment? Or is it possible that men break the law more than women? A man is something like 11 times more likely to be imprisoned by the state. Are we to automatically conclude there's systemic discrimination?

Women are 4 times more likely to be involved in an auto crash/incident than men. While men are about 4 time more likely to be involved in a crash fatality. Reasonable conclusions from those sort of studies arrive that women are less skilled than men at driving, but men tend to be more impulsive and impetuous and reckless in their decision making. Women tend to back into people at the grocery store parking lot. Men tend to make irrational and dangerous decisions at speed.

The point is, it MAY be that officers aren't showing any preferential or partial treatment toward one color or the other, but the owner/operator of the vehicles make different choices that have connections to the color and style of car they drive. It's certainly possible that officers simply target and cite brighter colored vehicles. But it's also just as possible that drivers of those vehicles make different choices. The reality is that the truth is probably somewhere in between (leaning more toward driver choices).

I'm all for statistical analysis but in our society today, everyone is much to apt to start with the wrong conclusion and find stats/facts that fit their agenda/narrative. As Mark Twain stated..."There are lies, damned lies and statistics."
