I own a 2021 PP Grabber Yellow mustang and I been thinking about trading it for a new 2024 GT or DH. I see that ford has discontinued the Grabber Yellow color for 2024. I'm afraid that if I go to try to trade in my car I'm going to get screwed because of the color. Anyone have any thoughts on the matter?

Hello; Might go to one or more of the sites which evaluate a vehicle. Enter the needed information on your car a few times with the only thing being the color difference. Might give a clue if color is a factor. I like yellow well enough so do not see it as a negative personally, but such has nothing to do with the general population.

You're going to get screwed because they are a dealership but the color will have nothing to do with it.
Hello; My first thought as well. I am curious as to what advantage, if any, there is to having a 2024 over a 2021.

My first thought would be ones love or hate of the large, slapped on screen dash.

Grabber yellow is a like or don’t like color, and some may think that is a bad thing (GY is the main reason why I bought my GT500). I would say right now is not really a sellers market unless you under value your car; expecting a dealership to give you a ā€goodā€ deal is over as they also see the storm coming in the car market.

Hello; I tend to agree with you. The days of selling a used GT for more than you paid new should be well over. That same dealer has a 2011 GT (Roush Stage2). Started out asking 44K last spring and now advertise it for a bit over 32K.
I have been stalling some about a purchase to see if prices come down any more. To the OP a question. What is wrong with the 2021 so you wish to trade it in?

You are going to get screwed regardless of the color. 🤣

That is is the dealer model. The car is used and auction/wholesale values have greatly decreased; meanwhile retail prices have declined slightly. Any one of us that decides to trade in our car will definitely not get the value we are hoping for.

The best why to get the amount you want is to sell independently, otherwise save the time and effort by trading in and mentally preparing to write off the difference in money you would have made selling privately as a personal convenience fee for dumping the car without much effort.

Grabber Yellow is an awesome color, at least put up a listing on Facebook, Ebay, Autotrader or Cargurus and see what hits you get in the first week or two. Personally, word of mouth is another useful way of selling a car. Friends, neighbors, fellow dudes at gas stations that comment on your car and say how nice it is... tell them it is for sale. Shine up your ride and park it outside your office building if you have one and see if anyone at your company is interested in a toy. You never know!

Incidentally, I read an article a while back indicating yellow is the car color with the highest resale value (although I forget at the moment if it was specific to sports cars). It seems used car buyers have better taste than new car buyers. :sunglasses:

I think part of the reason is how rare of a color it is, and Ford discontinuing it won't hurt you in that case. Ford tends to have a lot of special colors like Grabber Yellow that they only run for a year or two at a time, then bring it back a couple years later.

That's a great color. You won't be punished for it.

All the Grabber colors are fantastic. I will be GT500 hunting soon (I’ve been casually hunting already but will be getting more serious closer to spring) and am exclusively looking for the Grabber colors. Grabber Yellow is probably my favorite color on the 500.

In general I would say the Grabber colors are desirable by those that understand they are limited run colors and have a heritage back to the late 60’s and early 70’s. If GY was available when I ordered my 2022, I would’ve ordered it.

LOL not many things scare me driving in the snow, but a 500 in the snow would scare me. I don’t even know if I could find snow tires that big and anything skinnier won’t help with traction due to the HP. I do know a few guys that drive their C8’s all year round including in the snow, but even that car would be easier to drive in the snow than a 500.

But you better believe I’m going to drive the shit out of it from April to late October šŸ˜Ž.

Pfffft, it has a snow/rain mode. What could possibly go wrong?
