Anyone have any insight on the Eagle F1 vs the MPSS vs Indy 500?

I was out looking at my son's Camaro and he's got the F1s. Hopefully I'll be getting a new setup soon & was wondering if the F1s are any good.

You have to be more specific which ones you are talking about - there's whole bunch of them, starting with Supercar 3s and ending with All Seasons - but none of them is close to MPSS / MP4S - each in different aspect.

From what I researched. He may mean the F1 Supercar(link) tires. It's basically the only GoodYear that fits the OEM PP1 tires.

I was just looking at what came on my son's 1LE Camaro. I don't know which specific F1 they are.

So there is supposedly a few compounds of Supercar 3 Goodyears - but they're comparable to 200TW (I believe they're 220TW) which means better dry grip than any of the tires you listed, need some heat to work well and worse grip in the wet.
Good tire for the track, not so good as daily driver one.

Here is what Tire Rack says is on the car. This is the OEM version. Like kz said seems like a good track tire but not really for the street.

Well, whenever I get new wheels, hopefully soon, I probably won't be going with these. I saw those on his car, but didn't see a lot of talk about the F1s here, so I thought I'd ask. Thanks for the info guys.

The Michelin Pilot Sport 4S is arguably the best street tire on the market today, the successor to the MPSS you listed above. The Indy500 from Firestone is also good in its own right, but can't really be compared to the MP4S as it's in another league. With all that said, you need to figure out what you want from your tire and what kind of driving you do. How many miles a year, what weather/temps, do you go on track at all?

We offer wheel & Michelin tire packages that include free mounting and balancing. Our most popular setup is 19x10" squared with 285/35-19 Pilot Sport 4S.

I don't think you get them in the US, but here in Europe they just released the new Eagle F1 SuperSport, SuperSport R, and SuperSport RS, and apparently they are amazing.
The SuperSport are supposed to be about the same dry grip as the MPS4S, but with a more predictable and gradual break away point, but in the wet they are better than the MPS4S.
I'm waiting for them to release more sizes in the R variant, as i want to give them a go!

I had both Pirelli P Zero and Goodyear F-1s on my 14 TrackPac and the F-1s were marginally better in dry weather. In wet and cold both were terrible. When I bought my 19 PP1, it came with MPS4S’s and street, corner carving and the occasional drag strip they’re great. For wet or cold not so much, part of the reason I got 4 extra PP1 wheels and put Michelin PSA/S3+ tires on for the winter. They’re great in the wet and colder weather we have in the PNW...IMHO

I'll probably end up with the Indy 500s. Seems the best bang for the buck for part time track/strip/autox/cruise usage.
