Glad for you man. Definitely the right move
I mean, it's A move, but I wouldn't call it the "right" move, lol. I could never go back to a FWD performance car, no matter how many tricks they put into it to make it feel better.

With that said, they are still pretty fun, and the shifter is top notch. And OP gets to enjoy having actual gas mileage again!

It doesnt feel like a fwd car fwiw.
Its very unusual. Ill miss the power of the gt. But the clutch and shifter on the type r is on another planet in comparison.
The steering feel/response as well.

definitely a special car.

I've driven it and saw it plenty of times being driven fast. It has one of the best damped suspensions from stock cars - I think ZL1 LE and C8 are at this level, certainly not any stock Mustang GT.
It drives so differently with its lag and corner rotation under braking, but it's really good and interior is awesome. Have fun with it !

Did not see. How much was Type R? I used to visit Honda forums all the time when I had my Accord Sport 2.0. This was when Type R's first came out. Dealer markup was insane. Everyone was pissed. Is it still the same? I sure hope not.

No doubt very nice ride. Dig the color big time. Congrats!

Took advantage of the inflated used car values. Traded in my paid off 16 gt base manual. Gave me 23k for her. Bought her new back in june 16 for 30960. Not bad i guess.
The type r is the first car i ever bought that i didnt instantly want to mod it. Drives like a dream.

Heck no, you got to drive your GT for almost 5 years for ~$8K, seems like a great deal.
ignoring the time value of money...
but inflation says they paid you 23k on 34k original purchase so it's ~11k. The depreciation was only 32% when a rational market would have priced it deep into the 40's. Good trade. They'll have that advertised for 28k in 5 minutes flat.

The Type R is an amazing car. I personally cannot justify paying that much for one. Not to mention it is terribly above MSRP in both the white and grey market.

That's why I bought a 2016 Mustang GT manual. I'm having more fun with this at the track over a Civic. Not knocking the Civic, I just think oversteer is more fun than understeer.

I couldn't fit in the Type R well so I have the second best thing, the 2.0 10-speed Accord. I haven't done anything to it but this engine is really something while tuned. It's my daily so I probably won't touch it. It's got a catch can, dry flow air filter, and a quick oil drain plug. That's about all it's going to get.

Type R is deceptively quick, especially around the track. Personally, I'd never spend that much on a civic tho. Congrats on the change.
