So sorry that you had to have all of this happen. I'm glad you are ok. Do what ever you have to do to get thru this, and good luck on the future purchase.

So on Black Friday me and a friend were on the freeway, it was raining hard. I was in the middle lane and an old Buick travelling next to me on the fast lane went into my lane but the driver corrected it BUT the correction caused the driver to lose control and hit me on the drivers side door, we spun and ended up colliding head on with the center divide and all the airbags deployed, then we rolled all the way back. There were 2 witnesses and the driver was a very old lady who didnt seem to care that she almost killed 2 people.
I do not think i will be going back to a Mustang only because I kind of want something a little more roomy but still has good power...possibly a dodge charger RT or a ford explorer.

I havent been as active on these forums as I used to be but it was still great being part of the mustang community especially being a part of the s550 community these past 3+ years. Thank you guys and be safe.
Glad to read you survived unscathed.

I was surprised when The Aussies gave us such a low crash rating for the S550. Whenever I read or see something in regards to S550, I come away feeling more and more pleased with the design. Maybe itā€™s because of those hydroformed roof rails.

Hereā€™s the nastiest crash Iā€™ve ever seen with the driver surviving:

Good luck finding something more beautiful (and safe) than an S550. ā˜®

Scary stuff. Good that you weren't hurt.

When insurance throws a $ number at you, you are not obligated to take it. Just know that you can ask for a more fair value if they low ball you.

Thank you. Yea it was definitely the scariest moment in my life. With how hard we were about to crash head on to the divider i was already expecting that I was going to die so I reached over to protect my friend as much as possible (funny how insticts kicked in within a matter of milliseconds), but the seat belt locked on time and the air bags deployed perfectly. I give props to Ford because I felt like the car did more than enough to save our lives (which is how it should be).

Here is a pic from the crash.

Wow that's bad glad you are ok!

If you want something a little more roomy and still fun as hell to drive I highly suggest a Charger or Challenger Scat Pack.

Since ive never been involved in a crash in my 16 years of driving....i am not sure what I'm supposed to do. The crash was not my fault and my car is for sure totalled. I had a loan on that car but was in negative equity (I did have GAP) on the car. Ive been in contact with the insurance company and the body shop will assess the damages by monday but I am really hoping that I'm not gonna get lowballed. Will they just pay that car off and that's it? What about my passenger, she was shooken up pretty bad and had some issues? I'm not really sure what to expect and i am hoping i am handling this the right way, I'm pretty much just doing everything the insurance company is telling me.

Have the passenger go to the Doctors, so that is recorded.

If it is totaled, you will get market value for your car.

Wow, Looks pretty totaled to me. Good to know you both walked away from that crash. If that had been my 68 Mustang, well, you know what would have happened. Be sure that both of you get checked out medically so you know where you are healthwise prior to signing off the claim. Liberty Mutual? Yes listen to your insurance company. If they happen to say they want to fix the car get opinions from your choice of shops on whether that is a good idea and if you will be made whole on the repairs. A wrecked car is worth much less than a car that has never been in an accident.
Good luck on your next vehicle.

Thank God you are OK. Near miss makes you rethink life a bit.
My suggestion is a turbo Explorer Sport. Then get a tune from SSI. Mine is incredible on 87 octane. Truly impressive.
Then, there is also the new 2019 Edge ST with a serious turbo. Get a tune. The turbos make incredible power when tuned, nothing like a tune on our Mustangs. The torque is truly impressive. You get more room, better ride with some handling and torque off the line that's amazing.
My 2017 Explorer sport wpould take a RT Durango with ease before the tune. The tune added at least 50 awtq on 87 and smokes anything in it's class.

$500.00 registration?!?!?!? D*MN, that's high!!!
That's b/c Prop 6 was not shot down like it should have, so already WAY OVERCHARGED DMV reg fees are getting raised even MORE. It's totally insane. My '14 Jetta was like $237 last year. This year will probably be closer to $300. If you have a nicer car.....yes, figure $500...just for registration. Ridiculous. Only positive in SoCal is that the highways do keep widening unlike my visit to VA/MD where they never seem to and traffic just keeps getting worse.

If your passenger (or you) are having issues of any kind, I would definitely contact a lawyer. Generally, in these instances, lawyers will often have a free consultation with you, as they know that there is potential money to be made. Whatever you do, don't be in a rush to settle your claim/demand with the other party. Once you do, you will no longer be able to go after the person responsible for the accident as you are essentially agreeing that they are no longer liable.
This was personally me experience:
During the summer of 2016, I t-boned a guy at around 35mph after he decided to pull in front of me from oncoming traffic in order to pull into a parking lot. I didn't even have the time to slam on the brakes because it happened so fast. He was fine, and was able to get out of his car unharmed. On the other hand, I was completely messed up from the accident, primarily due to the fact that I had undergone spinal surgery less than a year before the accident, so I was seriously worried about the state of my spine (all while being in absolute shock). My wrists had also been absolutely cut up by the deployment of the airbag. My 14 5.0 was absolutely totaled too.
Fast forward in time, and my back has never been the same again since the accident, despite ongoing physical therapy and treatment. I basically contacted a local reputable personal injury lawyer that gave me a free consultation to explain to me what would happen, seeing as this was the first time I had been involved in a serious accident. Seeing as I was found non-responsible for the accident by the reporting police-officer, my insurance company, as well as the other driver's insurance company, the other driver was pinned as being fully responsible for the accident. I was then told that the guy had very little coverage, and would receive very little in compensation. I was given the option to either go after him by suing him for damages, or choose to use my under-insured motorist policy that I have with my insurance. I decided to opt for the second option as I didn't want to ruin the guy's life by suing him for everything that he's worth and then some (even though he's ruined my life). So, I'm currently STILL dealing with that, and am hoping that it was the right path to take.
My whole point is, I would highly suggest that you seek out and consult a lawyer, ESPECIALLY if you were not at fault at all for the accident (which seems to be the case). The consultation is generally free (although I would check) and they don't charge you anything until you receive your compensation (their cut is generally around 30% from what they are able to get for you). I would also DEFINITELY advise your friend to find a lawyer if they are experiencing any pain or discomfort that was directly related to the accident. You are also given plenty of time (2 years in CA) to make sure that new problems don't arise, as well as to see if you are able to fix those issues.
In the end, glad that you guys made it out ok. Having an accident is unfortunately a horrible headache, even AFTER the actual event. Dealing with everything is such a hassle, especially if you weren't at fault, but the key is to NOT rush anything (if you are able to. Some people just settle it quickly because they need the cash). Hope that my insight helped at least a little, and best of luck with everything.

You know all those Mustang crash videos people laugh at on YouTube?

Well, I find it even more hilarious that regular drivers tend to be just as, if not more dangerous, without even trying to be dangerous.

Glad to hear you're OK. Good Luck, and Godspeed.

Wow, that is totaled. My bro is a senior damage appraiser and the word on the new Mustang is, generally if the collision is severe enough for the airbags go off, the car is more than likely gonna be totaled. Glad to see in many instances folks were able to walk away. Good for you.

You can thank Ab1921 provision 3016 passed by Moonbeam August 2016 for that. Ill shorten it up for you. Ballot harvesting which is considered illegal in many states. The Dems saw Trump get elected and said N F way this shit will happen here. I am an independent that researches my own conclusions. This provision allowed ANYONE to drop off ballots and any amount of ballots without a single question being asked. No verification, no qualifications no ID nothing. They will never find the people who in Orange county dropped off 250,000 absentee ballots for reference.

I remember back in 92 my mom bought a brand new ford escort wagon for 12K, and in AZ at the time the plates were $1,000, the more the car was worth, the more the plates cost. In contrast, here in Ohio, the price varies depending on what city you live in. In my city, you can have a rusted out 71 pinto or a 3 million dollar bugatti veyron and plates are $54
