What this is all leading to is AI driving the cars and they will all be connected. Encryption has to be good enough to prevent someone hacking and then causing massive wrecks. Like it or not, and I don't, the days of us driving our cars is coming to an end. It won't be in my lifetime but it may in my grand kids.
I agree. Eventually were going to be like the animated movie Wally. Fat as hell, being carried around by our automatic electric chair with VR and tablet glued to us.

I've made the joke several times that in order to save us from ourselves we need to EMP the whole earth.

Way WAY faster than that, I was listening to a VC podcast and they blatantly said, if your child is 5 or younger they will likely never have a driver’s license.

This will be rolled out just like the internet or flat screen tv’s or smartphones… a light switch where you barely remember before.

What a dystopian thread this has become.
Reminds me of all the bitching that the Hot Rod performance world was ending because lead was removed from pump gasoline. All the hype and crying about valve seats being destroyed without lead to cushion the valve closing. Yet here we are some 45 years later with 480 HP factory 302’s that’ll typically go 200k+ miles without an issue.

You cannot deny the future of travel is going to be like the movie total recall.

We are already testing self driving semi trucks and taxis. It is not a stretch to see "Johnny cab" in the future. UBER, LIFT, ect only automated.

Not going to happen anytime soon. Drone delivery as well as self-driving cars are decades away. If then....

You’re free to be a skeptic, but between the big 3, the Mag 7, and Uber… all the parts are already working independently. And in some instances together.

Everything is in place, or being rolled out.

Amazons trial commercial drone delivery in the Phoenix Metro area and Texas, started Nov.5, 2024 ended Jan.20 2025 less than 3 months. Wonder why? MK 30TH (latest models) are crashing in light rain at their testing facility. Air Prime is dead before it ever starts. MK 30 improvement was flying in light rain. Wait until these +80lbs drones start crashing into people and expensive cars and property. Even owners are suing Musk over his full self-driving car claims. This is after he cut the price last year by 30%, only $8000 now.
Again will likely happen but at least +20 years away. BTW I fly drones, RC planes and Cessnas. I have crashed the first two not the Cessna!
Self flying planes??

I know some models of the Airbus can be programed at the gate and after push back will taxi to the runway, take off fly to the destination, land and taxi to the terminal all without any other pilot input.

So, yes we do have self flying planes.

Nice 152, is it yours?

SPE has got a new twin turbo kit in action. NOT aftermarket ECU as they state in comments on video.
