What is a returnless setup, even if expensive that can support 800whp on E85, Gen3? It seems a number of us want to see if that's possible in order to avoid, purportedly, the downsides of :

- fuel heating up in return-style system (maybe this is overblown or a myth)
- having the keep the tank from going down to too low a level.. This can get difficult with E85 at its consumption rate !

Can the Division X hat be used with just capping of the return... e.g. dual Walbors in the hat, upgrade the fuel rails and crossover ? Simpler, no aftermarket regulator without a return, right? I'm doing VMP BAP and 1050xs in my phase one 93octtane build on my '20 GT 10r80 PX-1 Procharger Stage 2

The only time you have to worry about running low on fuel is if you have aftermarket fuel hats.
I’m not sure if it will work on gen3 you might have to modify it a little but https://www.modularmotorsportsracin...page=product_info&cPath=28_29&products_id=844
Normally I don’t recommend anything from them but I have not had any problems with this

So maybe this returnless solution could be workable at least as say no more than 800-825rwhp on E85:

MMR feed line upgrade kit
Upgraded fuel rails
Boost-a-pump, boost referenced
Injectors (I'm going to run 1050X IDs on my '20 GT)

You just need bigger or dual pumps, lines, rails, injectors, tuning, maybe a bap

car 40-65k,

blower - 6-10k

suspension wheels and tires 7k

fuel system - how cheap can i get...

i see this all the time.

11-17, 1000/1050 injectors and a bap on pump. fuel system for e85
18-20 the tuners really like the 1000s still, but you can squeak by on pump on 47s because of the di, but you have no growing room there. bap still a good idea.

e85 on any year with a power adder, you want a fuel system, car makes power on air / fuel. its the most important thing besides the blower / turbo itself

There are some downsides to return style fuel systems, there is no longer a fuel bucket and you have to keep like half a tank of gas at all times especially if you want to do road racing type driving. ALso the fuel is heated constantly which can kill pumps relatively quickly on long road trips if you ever do those.. or if you are idling in traffic for hours in hot weather your fuel is going to be really hot. Also if you run e85 the hotter fuel goes bad quicker and absorbs more moisture. Those are some of the reasons other than cost that I wanted to stay returnless. Im just going with low boost and a good pump and a good BAP good injectors and a good tuner and I live in Florida where it doesnt get very cold. I also have seen reputable people having my combo with smaller pullies with no problems so I am not too worried about fueling issues. Whipple comes with rails and I have ID1050x and a BAP and dw400.

Terry,

Is this true? I was looking to do a fuel/FI upgrade in 8 to 10 months. I drive my car 15,000 to 20,000 miles a year. I’m not always in parts of the country where fuel stations are on every corner. If true are there other fuel systems that retain the fuel bucket ect that don’t have these down sides?

I dont think its much of a problem unless you are driving or cornering hard with like below 1/3 or 1/4 tank, I think I would still try to keep it atleast half full though to atleast have the pumps fully submerged. Also fore does recommend filling up every hour or so on road trips.

They talk about it some in this video

Yeah I might have to get creative. I’m not always able to stop every hour to fill up on road trips. I’ve been on trips where I definitely don’t see a gas station for over an hour. The GT350 hat and pumps look promising for me though. Should support what I want for now and keep it safe for long trips.

Pushing 680 rwhp on my '17 mustang. I upgraded my fuel injectors to 1000cc and she feels great. Next time
I do fueling it will be because I switch out the fuel system to E85 looking for more power. At 680rwhp, check out this dyno run and lmk what you think....

Op is going to be posting about a blown motor soon.

Over fuel and avoid all the time lost.

You can make more money but time is gone forever.

Fuel isn't something to skimp on. It's going to cost you way more to rebuild a motor than to purchase a proper fuel system from the beginning. We have some really great options here with quality components from DivisionX which are designed to meet our customers needs depending on the type of power you're trying to support as well as what type of fuel you'll be running.
Feel free to reach out if you have any questions and we'll be glad to assist you.
