Any dietician will tell you it doesn't matter what form the calories take, just how many in & out.

Usaine Bolt ate Chicken McNuggets for breakfast and lunch the day of setting a new world record in the 100 meters.
Was he running for the head?

I get it right down the road from me at bucee's. They have ethanol free 87 and ethanol free 93 pumps.
Hmm, I wonder since I live in Denver (elevation) that 93 isn't available here? I've only seen 87.

Could be the gas station itself. We have several gas stations that carry ethanol free but some only have 87 and some have 87 and 91 but bucees has 87 and 93 and not 91. LOL

"Top Tier". I've never heard a bigger bunch of bullshit than this video. 100% lies and bullshit.

Made up as marketing in conjunction with gasoline distributors.

There's no such thing. All gasolines come from exactly the same place. Doesn't matter whose name is on the pump, it all comes from exactly the same refineries and distribution points.

It's fitting that the video features two guys wearing "Total Seal" shirts. There's your sign.

Yes, at least here in the Phoenix area all the fuel starts out from the "tank farm" as basically the same but each brand has there own "additive package" that differentiates it from the others. Like Techron (Chevron) and Shell's VPower. It's not just words, it's an actual additive that contains detergents and such and That's what makes each brand different - they really are different. That's why it's usually cheaper to pump the branded fuel instead of buying the bottles of additive.

It is scarce because of the elevation and not necessarily needed, but you can still find 93 at the pumps out in Morrison by Bandimere Speedway. The stations out there still sell 93 as they are near the raceway. I would be surprised if anywhere in the city had 93 though. I've only seen 91 as the highest grade in Denver.

Yeah there are a few stations you can even get 100 octaneđź’˛. But I was referring to ethanol free fuel.

There are tank farms all over the country, so all gasoline in a given distribution area is the same.

Yes, there are additive packages, but they're just for legal reasons. You can't claim/advertise your gas has something, if it doesn't actually have that thing.

The real point is that none of that stuff does anything. Gasoline is itself a detergent, so there's no need to add anything. Cheap gasoline isn't any better or worse than expensive gasoline. Neither is "dirtier" than the other, or does anything special versus the other. It's all the same stuff from the same containers.

What does make a difference is to get fresh gasoline, from a station that properly maintains it's equipment, and don't get gas when the tanks are being filled by the tanker.

Below quoted from AAA study mentioned in video

" Refined gasoline is transported via trucks, tanker ships and barges, or pipelines to various distribution terminals across the country. However, the refined gasoline is still not ready for use by retailers because a detergent additive packages has not yet been blended into the fuel.

Base gasoline (fuel without additives) from various refineries is usually stored in common tanks at the distribution terminal until a retail gas station places an order for the product. This is when the individual brands are created through the addition of proprietary additive packages. As a tanker truck is being filled at the terminal, base gasoline is blended with a detergent additive package specific to that retailer. "

here is the link to article - has quite a bit of good info - actually explains why modern cars need different additives and detergents since standards were put in place in 1996- before most cars were direct injected or turbo charged. If you are not aware of this hop into the 2020's and join us ;)

One good thing about Cali 91 octane, is that they all regardless of manufacturer, has to have a minimum detergent package. What the manufacturer wants to do after that is up to them.
