I don't know about contact but the order confirmation clearly states it is not an invoice

The fact that I put down a deposit shows my faith that "eventually" the car will show up. What I don't like is that the dealer I'm dealing really has not shared any of the info the seems to be readily available here because they say they have no new info.
AND for your 19 years of your life that you've experience of how the real corporate world works, it's not about Gimme gimme, it's about communication.
I've signed a contract, I've paid a deposit...I'm a Buyer, I have an obligation as does the Dealer. My deposit has been with the dealer for 28 days and the only info I've received is that my order has been accepted.

So ya,....a bit of frustration but more directed at Ford for not getting the product info to the dealers in a timely manner as well as letting the "buyer" know the truth from Ford about production and delivery timetables as well as complete production information.
Your deposit is not your down payment, your deposit is telling the dealership that they can order their stock vehicles to specifications outside the ordinary telling them they are guaranteed a purchase. The reason they require a deposit is so if you decide to back out and they are stuck with your optioned vehicle that may not be the easiest to sell statistically to the average consumer, they have at-least a couple hundred bucks for the complications of selling a vehicle they originally were not planning to have.

Example: Most people would not want the competition orange, non-PP, 6 speed, with ceramic interior. They order it, you end up not wanting it, they are stuck with it.

Also, they are trying their best to communicate to people. What other information could dealerships possibly give out? Ford doesn't even have the exact build dates or shipping dates. Dealerships know just about as much as we do here. They only thing they have the ability to do is order the vehicle for us because retail ordering is not available yet.

Its our risk as a consumer putting a deposit down on a car that we do not have 100% knowledge of. For all we know, we could get stuck with the minimum 420 HP, 390 FT/lbs of torque, ordering could be backed up until next year, and there could be lots of complications. We put a deposit down early to guarantee ourselves the first cars that are released. We even ordered before the weight figures were released, what if they ended up being 4000-4100 pounds? We are the people who put deposits down on a car that has limited information on, our fault not theirs

Are you sure you are just 19 years old? I am amazed by so much maturity, keep it up!!!!!
and yes, I am 19! I have been working as a mechanical engineer since I was 16 for a company that provides the CNC, Gun-drills, Foam-mills, and many other machines to GM, Ford, Chrysler, and many other companies that are non-automotive. I believe our Clay-mill actually sculpted the 2015 GT's because we sold one to Ford in 2009 :), I've been saving for awhile for a car, the 2015 caught my eyes, I didn't want the ecoboost premium nor a base gt with that plastic-y interior, so now here I am working 55 hours a week during my summer because I want nothing less than a loaded GT-Premium and need to get my monthly payments as low as possible, good taste bit me in the ass

Wheels unknown, interior finishes unknown, .....how does Ford start accepting orders with so many things unknown.
Are you talking the colors of the performance pack wheels and color of the aluminum dash panels? What other items are unknown that you wish was available?

Starting to loose my "new car ordered" lust!
I regularly look at the 1000+ pictures I have to re-up it. :)

Just wish Ford would get the honest info out there.
There's a lot of honest information out there already. It's been coming out since December, 2013.

This is the dilemma of being first on the block. However, I am convinced the wait will be worth it, and I will have gained a large amount of patience capability in the meantime! Waiting on a VIN, waiting on a WIN, waiting on a VIN...:frusty:

I understand frustration. I'd like to address this part of your post.

What I don't like is that the dealer I'm dealing really has not shared any of the info the seems to be readily available here because they say they have no new info.
Don't ever count on the dealer to know everything. They don't. They have a lot of irons in the fire. We can concentrate on one model here are scour the interwebz get some info from insiders and usually be far more informed than salespeople or dealers. Of course there are a few that keep very up to date. Your dealership very well may be telling the truth, they don't have that information. Be patient, share what you know with them and hang out here a lot. :)

I've said it before and I'll say it again... Ford opened the order banks mostly to allow dealerships to start ordering stock for their lots. The fact that we hard cores get to order now is a BONUS. It's not as if Ford is out there with some big marketing blitz, encouraging everyone to head straight for their local dealership to order one.

I get the feeling Ford would have been better off to simply not allow anyone to order yet... but then we all know that would have resulted in complaints too. They cannot win really.

For those that are agonizing over the missing pieces of information, I suggest you simply step away, take a deep breath, find something else to occupy your thoughts for a few weeks, and then come back to find that everything you desired to know will be waiting for you. :)

Oy, first world problems... ;)

If it's anybody agonizing it's when person orders knowing that all the specs are not released yet so it's really your own fault for doing so and simply ordering when they did become available...plain and simple.. I ordered, yes, but I have confidence and 2 I knew what I was getting into

In nine months there will be a Mustang at just about every stoplight (just like there is now)...Im doubting Ford cares with the minor population that is disgruntled over the wait.

Im like you and wish they would leak some new pics, data, something....anything. I have to admit the long wait is definitely cooling my new car fever.

Keep in mind they need to please shareholders as well; not just Mustang fans.

Marketing is a slowly stoked fire that is supposed to hit full blaze when the product is released...

Fords marketing strategy seems to be burn the forest down and wait until the fire is out to throw some kindling on...Its honestly one of the strangest marketing plans I think I've ever seen executed.

I expected a slow stream of photo releases, reviews, sneak peaks, surprises, stats all in the culmination of product release. Having potential buys start to question if they want the car because of lack of communication/input would appear the exact opposite of what marketing would want...

I will say it again, however, that there will be one at virtually every stop in nine months. So I guess their marketing department can take an odd path.

Really..Thats interesting. Around my house they are literally a dime a dozen. When I purchased my first Mustang there were pages and pages of Mustangs in the autotrader...

gotta love this site sometimes…anybody says anything that isn't rah rah and slightly negative and the shills come out in force.
Overall good info on this forum ... the whole idea is to share ideas and discuss.
Ford is on schedule to retool and for production in less than 2 months, so obviously I don't think anything is changing in a matter of weeks, so release all the specs, I agree with that.

Just got this info:

The 2015 Mustang is on the Way
Now that the very last 2014 Ford Mustang has rolled off of the assembly line in Flat Rock Michigan, the workers at the plant will begin making the changes needed to build the next generation Mustang. While the basic assembly process will be very similar, the machinery used to physically assemble the new S550 Mustang will need to be adjusted. Ford has not said exactly how long it will take to complete the retooling process, but it is expected that the Motor Company will launch production this summer and with summer upon us – we should be within no more than two months from the start of production.

Wheels unknown, interior finishes unknown, .....how does Ford start accepting orders with so many things unknown.

Starting to loose my "new car ordered" lust!

Just wish Ford would get the honest info out there.
You ordered a car that is not even for sale yet and not even being built yet. So yea you still have a long time to wait. Honestly why would you put down a deposit to wait on a car that is not even for sale yet and has no final numbers or specs. The Dealers will be flooded with these after winter. I guess you are really anxious about this car..... Actually a good move by ford, they are creating demand for this car already.
