New to me 2019 Mustang GT Premium, I've had it for a couple months. Previous owner replaced the front bumper with a Mach 1 bumper. I noticed last night the passenger side seems to have broke loose, it looks like the glue let go. No signs of any damage or anyone bumping the car.

My first thought is I can get some kind of plastic glue, reattach it, tape it while it holds and all will be good, is it that simple?

There is 2 studs and 2 nuts on the interior side of that you can see with the hood open, you should just be able to tighten them and pull it up in place if it isn't broken

But… If its broken there isnt a good permanent fix (that I’m aware of) except modifying it for a quicklatch style attachment point, or replacing the bumper

That little plastic tab which hold that edge of the bumper on is the weakest link in the entire car, and its formed to the bumper, so when it breaks the only real way to replace it is to order a new bumper. Totally annoying. Fwiw Inhave a auicklatch on both sides at this point. My car is black tho so they blend in better.

You can remove the bumper and repair it pretty easily with a plastic welder I'm sure as long as all the pieces are there

I zip tied my driver side.

When working on the car I discovered the previous owner had used bailing wire for the passenger side.

It's a very common issue on this platform. But it can be remedied in any myriad of ways, depending on your OCD level and MacGyver skills

Happened to my FR-S too after I removed the bumper to add a supercharger, though mine didn't look as bad. Just modern car plastic junk.

I got a chance to look at it better today, looks like this has been repaired before, I think I see gobs of old glue and broken plastic.

It is a very common weak spot. If you can make an invisible repair go for it, I bet you can.

I just remembered an old friend of mine used to do auto body work, I shared some pictures with him and he said

"JB Weld works well for stuff like that. There is also a product line called Lord Fusor that has some great products for bonding flex covers. What this really needs is a metal reinforcement of some sort, like hot wire or staples but I'm guessing that you want to stay away from having to refinish this. You have nothing to lose by trying, but this a big job for epoxy alone. If you do pull it off tell your wife to stay clear of parking lot curbs, because impact to the bottom can cause enough flex to break this again. Also, you will need to brace this well while it dries so your gaps are preserved. "

I’m assuming you know not to permanently attach the bumper to the fender, no sarcasm intended. Just sounds like that’s what you are talking about doing in your above reply

Previous owner replaced the stock front bumper with a Mach One bumper after hitting a dog. I just took the car to the collision shop that did the work. Shop guy informed me they had to glue the Mach One bumper in at that spot because the stock bracket did not work for the Mach One bumper. They are going to fix it for me later this week for free. Looks like I could use that https://www.mustang6g.com/forums/members/63243/ bracket if it doesn't hold.
