I believe the FP warranty REPLACES the factory warranty on related parts. I suspect the ESP does not say it extends the FP warranty.
Have a message in to Granger to find out about this.

I ordered my '20 and have taken great care of it. Decided to forgo the extended warranty on it.

Since that time I had:
my steering rack go bad ($3200 bill for that from the dealer)
and now my slave cylinder has died ($2600 for new clutch while in there/cylinder/other parts + labor)

I am unclear if an ESP would cover a slave cylinder. Apparently my clutch is still totally fine.

Pretty sure I woulda come out ahead had I bought the ESP this time. If anything else big goes I am in the red and will wish I had bought the ESP.

Long story short I think I could have bought the ESP and been better off.

On a 2005 Lincoln LS the ESP saved me over 5k on a new transmission about 17 years ago.

Saying this for consideration vs the people who say absolutely not worth the ESP. It's definitely been valuable to me.

I will wait for a response from Ford, I'm guessing you are not affiliated, although you may be correct, we will see.

That’s correct on the FP warranty replacing the factory warranty for certain parts. I’ll have to dig up my ESP to see what is excluded. My guess is that you’re correct and that the ESP would not extend to the FP kit and tune.

You cannot extend a factory warranty that has been voided. The FRPP warranty supersedes the factory warranty.
Only for the parts that the FP kit replaces and related items specifically mentioned in the FP warranty. It DOES NOT void any other part of the factory warranty and thus any ESP that would be covered under said factory warranty

Right, unless my 10R80 starts acting up. $2000 invested for 6 years (warranty period) will no way make enough to cover a transmission or major motor repairs. I have very bad luck, don't feel like rolling the dice.
Smart man!

I did, and ended up using it for a $6800 10R80 replacement...all at the cost of a $795 ESP powertrain care.

I think you should quit while you're ahead, it doesn't seem you have much grasp on what is being discussed here.

Yea sure you did. If the original poster (who did ask for input) wants to throw his money away……..

I asked for input on the plan, not whether it was a good investment or not.

I have to ask: As distraught as you are about him paying for an ESP, are you by chance a potential beneficiary to his estate?

Here is the response from Ford ESP: " If any modifications cause an issue that is covered by the warranty, then that part would be voided from being covered by the warranty. " so that does make me pause and think. I just do not see how they could blame something on this FP mod that has been in place 5 years with no issue. My worry is how would I go about proving otherwise if this were to happen?
