Forced Induction MPG City and Highway

That probably depends much more on driving style than forced induction. What I can say is that the cam timing strategies on FI tunes do not take nearly as much advantage of the atkinson effect as stock, not to mention shift schedules and other things, so mpg will undoubtedly suffer.

I just wanted to know the averages which are listed on your dash AMPG. How you drive makes no difference, just wanted to know what people are getting with their set ups.

Seriously though, this is one of those 'if you have to ask' type of questions. It will get worse MPG. How much worse depends on your driving habits. Put it this way, if you're concerned about being able to travel X distance without refueling, don't go FI. Otherwise, send it bro!

It depends is what he is getting at. E85? Which FI? How much you get in at? Etc. I have been meaning to figure it out but I can't, only because I get on it to much. I think current avg is 12mpg.

19 a10 gen5 whipple 93 in town driving normal stop and go 14-15mpg on the highway 75 mph 27mpg. Thats with nitto 305 drag radials.

If I'm doing freeway driving and not aggressive with the gas pedal, I can get 24-25 mpg. Around town and stop and go traffic, the MPG is terrible. But I'm assuming that most people who purchased a Mustang knew that these cars don't get the best of mileage per gallon, especially when boosted.

I think you're totally missing the point. Aftermarket FI setups aren't factory cars. No one here is recording fuel economy running EPA driving cycles. If you get 10, 100, 1000 data points, you still won't have the one piece of information you really need: what MPG you will get with your setup and your driving habits.

Man I asked a very basic, basic question about when a particular person with a particular FI mustang fills their tank, what AMPG do they show. I've built cars, motor cycles, alcohol, nitrous and Nitro street bikes. I just wanted basic info for me to conciser when building a particular FI set up. So I know about what to expect as far as distance I can drive per tank. Has nothing, absolutely nothing to do with cost, just basic facts as to which companies FI system, which produce basically the same HP and TQ, get more MPG so I can add that factor in when buying my new set up, that's all. I drive my cars and motorcycles like most others, wide open throttle. I just asked for basic info. If you don't want to give it, that's great. But all the other stuff, doesn't add to my basic question I asked. I know Turbos are more efficient thank screw or root superchargers, and Centrifugal are more efficient than Screw and Roots SC. Just wanted basic info, that's all.

@doug5551 I think you’re missing the point people are trying to make. You could ask 100 people this question and get 100 different answers. It will be useless information because everyone’s driving patterns are different. You don’t have a level playing field. So one person reports 25 mpg with a procharger and another reports 15 with a roush. I can get 15 or 25 with my Whipple depending on how and where I drive.

The closest you can get to a real answer is by comparing roush stage 3 to stock for 2019, because they both went through the same epa drive cycle. But you won’t be able a to compare any other FI because the drive cycle has too much variability.

My car is a stage 2 Whipple and can make up to 23 mpg hwy. However, I drive the piss out of it on short commutes and only get around 13 city.

Thank you for providing me with the info. That's really good for WOT. How do you like your Whipple? Any Cons on it?. I will be ordering my FI kit this fall.

If you drive like the cops are watching 1-2mpg less than stock. If you drive hard its going to drink gas.

Are you Whipple or Procharger?. E85 definitely reduced how far you can travel between fill ups. Thanks
