Those in hotter states that upgraded radiator with forced induction was it worth it? I am considering a Mishimoto radiator but wanted to see if anyone noticed any difference.

Thats probably an unnecessary expense. Have you changed your thermostat? Or talked to your tuner about having your fans come on sooner?

That what I was thinking but was wanting to see any benefits of doing it. I have the Whipple tune and Reische thermostat. I went to a sonic drive in for lunch and watched the CHT temps rise to 240+ as I sat there.

Anytime you can improve cooling it is a plus. The problem most guys run into is....is it worth the bang for the buck. I am probably going to upgrade.

Check water/coolant levels and add a little distilled water if it’s low. Check to make sure your fans are running as well. I know Lund turns on the fans sooner than the stock tune. Not sure about the whipple tune.

I'm from Texas as well, a larger radiator is not needed, what you need is the Resiche 170* t-stat and your tune updated to run the fans sooner. My CHT's usually stay around 190-195* even during extended idling

3 years with a procharger, lower t-stat, fans set to come on lower, driven daily in east Tennessee and I've never seen the CHT above 214 max

If you race your car or even just push it hard, you will benefit from a more efficient radiator. ..Just make sure your tuner calibrates everything accordingly. Pay extra if you have to.

If you're a T2k type guy or the 100mph roll racer then you'll also benefit from better hood venting.

Thanks for the feedback. I will have to do that with fans if I ever get custom tuned.
