If you don't have a jacking rail, you can be okay. I said "can" because I had car slip of the floor jack puck when the floor jack wheels did not roll, after significantly distorting the rubber pad. So the word of caution is: ensure the floor jack wheels are rolling as they should while the lifting geometry changes.

Right i understand. I meant no rubber pad and floot jack directly on the pinch weld

Ok so common sense, middle of the puck on the pinch weld?
Correct. I have a two ton floor jack and the puck fits snuggly in the cup on the jack so it can't slide out. It sticks up high enough that nothing metal on the jack comes in contact with the car.

I have jacking rails. With those, I use hockey pucks to; they fill the gap to the car a bit more and are easy on metal surfaces. Rubbery, I have not noticed mine to slip.

Some Owners will cut a modest channel down the center of the puck, to follow the pinch weld.

Manufacturers make jacking pads, often for their own systems. They're akin to pucks, but more specialized.

Whatever you decide, use a combination of jack and jack stand, to add an additional layer of safety. Wheel chocks can also be worthwhile.

In the photo below, the jacks are perpendicular to the car, to reduce the chance of movement. You can also see one of the wheel chocks. After the car was lifted and on stands, the jacks stayed, just resting under the car.

Make the investment and get jacking rails. I’ve had them on my car for eight years and there are no worries when jacking the car. save your pinch welds.

That's how the whole world does it (except for the couple people who spaz out about every tiny thing on internet forums)

The last thing you want to use btw is the scissor jack that comes with the car

I would try a set of these but I'm not sure they would fit without hitting the trim/rockers or whatever that parts called

Great advise but I don’t think people are understanding/answering your question. Yes, pinch weld for jacking this car is super safe. In fact, this may be the most robust pinch weld I’ve ever seen on a vehicle. All these other tips you’ve been given are awesome, but they are cool convenience items. Not mandatory.

IMO any rubber between the jack or stand really just helps protect the pinch weld paint, and therefore prevent rust long term. Eventually the rubber device splits or deteriorates.

You could look into semi-permanent aluminum pucks that set-screw to the pinch weld. Might not work for a lowered car.

Same here but I used a hacksaw to cut a grove across the center for the pinch weld to go in before I bought jacking rails.

Yes, im just trying to put my new wheels on. Not gonna be under the car and only doing one corner at a time. So i just wanna use a low profile wheel jack to get it up without waiting for anything else. Wheels took 12 weeks and i dont wanna wait to put them on lol.
