FL-2087 oil filter

Luckily for me, I asked my local parts guy to order me a new filter housing a month ago. The housing comes with the filter as well. I just texted him, and he does have it. I'm all set for another year, but hopefully these get back in stock soon.

They're just really limited in availability right now. If you do your own oil changes just order a couple from your local dealer. Some of us have been waiting a while to get them, but they'll eventually come in. I know thats not a ton of help but they are trickling in.

EDIT; they are vendor ship direct and if a dealer tells you they have to order 48 they arent lying. Just tried to order one and it got bumped to 48.

I'd want to see what the oil pick up looks like, if there is enough of a restriction to crush a filter like that.
Bet dollars to donuts, the oil pickup is a clogged up mess.
Only way the pump sucks a filter closed like that is a major restriction between the filter and pick up.

I’ve never seen an oil filter before the pump. The pump is connected to the pickup and pushes oil through the filter.

The filter in the photo's looks like it was sucked closed.
Unless the housing oil feed is water jetting the oil straight at the middle of the filter in a fine stream, That should not happen Any photo's of the oil feed hole and location and angle to the filter media.

I am thoroughly confused . What is the most up to date PN / configuration for the GT 500 filter. Is it supposed to have the metal sleeve inside the filter or is it plastic reinforced inside ?

There is a pix out there where the filter was incorrectly installed in the housing and was somewhat crushed/twisted. It was not caused by oil flow. It was due to improper installation, and the housing was damaged inside as the filter was not properly set before installation.

The latest filter is extremely robust. Cut one apart and you'll see how well put together they are. I give Ford credit for their efforts here.
