Sounds like throttle timing might be a better way to deal with the aggressiveness no?
Not really, it's all about the transition from vacuum to slight amounts of boost, which can vary in throttle position depending on rpm, load, etc. Basically, it doesn't always happen at the same throttle position. Maybe it could be managed with the torque tables and/or speed density model in the tune, but it seems like it would be simpler to just slow the action of the bypass valve by controlling it with an actuator like the smoothboost. I've tried using a restrictor in the vacuum line, but I didn't find a good size for a restrictor in the limited amount of testing I've done.

I don't have the need to run the boost up and down alot. I just use the accelerator pedal for that. My setup is simpler I suppose.
Even when I was 11lbs on 93 I didn't like the vacuum bypass valve erratic spontanious. opening and closing. It just wasn't a smooth boost increase but rather all at once boost which I did not like. I guess I'm just picky.

I only got throttle surge on my 2650 on cruise pulling a hill in high gears. The vacuum pill did help with slowing the response on regular driving. But I guess it's not the same for auto and manual cars.

I didn't notice you have a manual. If mine was a manual I am pretty sure I wouldn't have or even notice this issue

I’m in for the results on the smooth boost!

Love the idea… not the price tag though! They’re not cheap!

Well, I look at it this way. The boost bypass valve needed to be high quality and reliable. I actually think for what I got for my money was well worth it and priced accordingly. But that's just me for I only buy or try to buy the highest quality par6s for I cannot afford for them to prematurely fail. Pay once replace once. Hopefully. Lol

That’s why I’m in for the differences it makes with your setup.

So basically for me though, in funny Canadian dollars I’m looking at almost 3k because I’ll need the controller and a new tune and device to do it right. That’s with me installing. So it’s a chunk of money.

But if it works…

I already had my tuning device and Wengerd for all of tunes. And since Canada has more cooler days then me here in Indiana nd I can see traction being an issue.
