This is produced by Modern Muscle Performance. They are a very reputable Mopar shop and that has been the focus of Smoothboost so far, so you are unlikely to get much/any Ford feedback. I sat next to one of their calibrators at The Tuning School last year and we had a long conversation about it. They purchased 2 S550's to play with, but I haven't seen any Ford parts come from that thus far. I am hoping they add Coyote Whipple support as he said it really only involved designing the bracketry. I gathered that the controller was rather simple, but could take input from other controllers for more complex operations.

I messaged them asking about the install. They should respond Monday.

I asked directly about the wiring install, and that I was trying to launch on low boost and ramp up after second gear. This was the response I got:

It wires up to the throttle signal so you will have to tap into 1 wire to acquire the variable 0-5v signal then its just 12v and ground.

To run it as launch control you can use the low boost setting and wire a scramble button to the input so that you can manually trigger high boost mode after 2nd gear. We also have an add on device that will gradually bring the boost in over a set amount of seconds and you can also alter the boost curve.

At what point should you just have gone with turbo(s) and a boost controller?

Not a viable option in my area. Can't pass emissions with any of the turbo kits.
