Clearly the C8 didn't have a "Track Tuned calibration"....could have been a fair race if the GT 500 had all of it's sandbags and driver mod...

The C8 has about the same power and weight as a mustang gt. I wouldn't expect it to beat a solid 10 second car like the GT500, even with the rear mid engine layout. The C8 competes with a base 911. The GT500 competes with an 800hp Redeye at the strip.

Low 11s out of the new Vettes are pretty good. It’s almost a full second faster than the C7s.

Good video of the race we all have been waiting for. Maybe it's just me but I'm not very impressed with the C8. I thought this car would just launch effortlessly, but it struggled to get 1.8s, the 119 - 120 mph trap, that is 2018+ Mustang GT trap speeds. This was on a prepped strip in very good conditions, I would have expected 10.90s - 11:00s @ 123+. Also can't blame the fuel as race fuel was added.

Times for the C8 need to get much better or there will be a lot of upset buyers I suspect.
There's a video of one doing high 10's on nitrous. Needed a tire to do it. Not sure this is the car for drag racing or moding. For example, the muffler is matched to the active fuel management. Seems to be a lot of advanced features that all tie in together.

Did anyone figure out how to do a burnout in the C8 yet?:facepalm:

Agreed not a good car to mod, at least in my opinion. Low 11s and a mid engine with a crazy good 0-60 and very impressive all around performance for mid $60s is nothing to complain about. For reference the C8 z51 is running right with a 13-14 GT500 and will beat any gt350 on a road course or drag strip. Considering the gt350R starts at over 70 grand the C8 is a very impressive car. As fast as a GT500 no, but just because some cars are faster does not make a car like the C8 slow in any way I’m thinking many car makers are going to start making cars much harder to mod in the next 5 to 10 years.

I'm a Mustang guy...but I drove my bud to pick up this bad-ass babe...that's good stuff there. If I weren't 6'5", I might consider one to add to the garage.

Nice. I will go look at one once a dealer near me gets one in. How did it look in person?

Some cars look better in person than in pictures, some look about the same, and some look worse.

O and 6.5 is tall, I’d like to see you try to get in a viper lol.
