2020 GT without Active Exhaust. Just did a resonator delete H-Pipe install & I really like the sound but it just isn't there yet. I'm hoping for a deep rumble without going excessively loud. I don't care how it sounds on the highway because nobody hears it, I want it to sound good from stoplight to stoplight. I was thinking Borla S-type axle backs might be what I'm after but I've only heard them on my phone. I'm open to input & suggestions.

I had the s type on my old s550 with stock headers. It sounded perfect. Deep rumble. No rasp. It was probably my favorite exhaust set up I've had so far. I had the X pipe though.

My wife's '19 has a Roush axle back. Everything else in the exhaust is stock. Sounds great!! Nice deep tone. But not objectionable at lower throttle opening. Mat it, and it's just a bit louder than my active exhaust on Sport+.

The borla s type with an h pipe resonator sounds great. Good deep note and not overly loud but gets a lot of compliments.

That sounds exactly like what I'm after.

The S type with the stock resonator is plenty loud for me. Unless you're deaf i can't imagine you'd be displeased with it especially with a resonator delete

The H pipe was probably a mistake. Best thing is the right louder mufflers with the stock midpipe IMHO.

Put the resonator back in and then there are some fun options with good tone and good volume without being stupid volume, drone, and poor tone.

Cut the resonator out and you have to be pretty careful what you put back there because its all up to the mufflers.

Mine (now sold) had the Borla ATAK Cat-Back, no active exhaust, long-tube headers with an H-pipe. It was loud, stupid loud. The previous owner did all of this. But, it sounded amazing stoplight to stoplight. https://www.borla.com/products/ford...e-rel95au7GwNhYKYa1Op5jSKqhIH63XsU9L1zv8JXui1
