Does anyone know how to disable this? It's so annoying when I have the keys in my pocket, get out of the car with the engine on, and the horn beeps twice. People always look thinking I'm honking at them... or trying to get attention for my brand new car.

I second that...my GM truck just blinks its parking lights at me when I lock it. It was quite
easy to disable the horn warning.
My nephew's Subaru Outback always honked loudly. Great way to let all the other campers know that
you have arrived late at night. No way to defeat it..we thought about pulling the plug on the
horn, but realized that we might need it while driving.

I agree!! So annoying, you hop out at a convenience store, passengers still in the car and It honks twice. Everyone looks to see who you're beeping at.
Ford cut this shit out.

I don't think you can disable. I looked into this on my wife's Edge because it is annoying as hell. On the Edge it is not defeatable.

That's such BS. I'm gonna contact a tech to see what kind of hack we can get for this. More so, I'm putting in a massive complaint to Ford through my website.

My bmw doesn't do it. I came home once, got out, my wife came out, said she had to go to the store, got in the bimmer and drove off to the store.
She got there, parked, turned off the car. Got out to set alarm. Realized she didn't have key. Couldn't restart car to come back abs get key.

I had to drive to the store to give her key to come home.

That small annoying honk could have saved alot of time!

My 135i told you if the key wasn't in the car. It just didn't feel the need to be obnoxious about it.

I really wish the honking was defeatable. It is great when you get up early and start the car and then get out to put the kids snowboards on the roof rack (edge).

Lemme know when someone finds a fix. All the tech packed into modern cars and we get stuck with unchangeable, user unfriendly, bloat.

In all BMWs, and german cars for that matter, it alerts you on the gauge cluster that there's no key in the vehicle. Multiple times, in fact.

It tells you in the display if there is no key. Agree the two honks is annoying. I love the fact that I can start it, let it warm up, go back in the house and no one can drive off in it. I just don't need it beeping at me.

Huh? You can't drive away if the car is started and you don't have the key? Going to have to try this. I could see this in an auto, but how does it prevent you in a manual? Or do you just mean you lock the doors and don't need a second key to get back in?

My 2010 genesis coupe made a borderline too loud "beeeeeeeeeeep!" when you closed the door with the intelligent key in your pocket. It still wasn't loud enough to wake the neighbors.

I leave 5:50am, and when I go out to warm up my car, I really don't feel like waking up my family (and my neighbors) by having my car go HONK HONK.

I thought I read in the article that ford asked customers and the customers voted for "two honks in lower volume". There is NOTHING low volume in the two honks that my EB makes.

I go out, start the car (key in coat pocket) walk back in the house, car continues to run and warm up. The car locks the doors anytime you get out of it if it's running or not. It's the two very loud honks I can do with out.

I'm actually okay with the two honks, but I don't leave my car running that often when I'm not in it, either.
