Just don't shut the door completely. Shut it to first latch and the horn won't sound.

Why can't you just leave your fob in the car? Some people say they don't want to leave it in there, but that's exactly what you would have to do if you actually had to use a key to start the car.

Whatever happened to a proactive anti theft by the owner... I would not want to leave the engine running.. Especially in a questionable area... if someone were to drive off with it while you left it running... guess whose fault that was?
So don't leave your car running in a questionable area.

Plus, it is not even all about 'leaving' your vehicle. I start the car to get it warming up, I step 5 feet away to get the kids snowboards so I can put them on the roof rack and I get the horn honking at me. It is early in the morning, I have neighbors, it is annoying.

Same if I'm driving by the mailbox and I stop to pick up the mail.

Or if I start the car to get it warmed up and then go out to scrape the windows.

The honking is obnoxious and should be defeatable.

Hold fob in upper right corner of door frame when you get out. Close door and pull the fob out of the way at the last second. No beeps.

It's habit for me from my ST because I hate the honks with a passion. It's not even a conscious action for me anymore. It's just something I do as I get out and close the door each morning.

Did you let the key linger at the corner of the window after closing. I'd take a video and show exactly how I do it, but the ecoboost is currently down and at the dealer.
No, lemme try that, lol...have you done it with the Mustang?

Yep. It's a 'feature' I don't like so I'm looking for a workaround. No harm, no foul.
