Been a little bit now since my last post, but I have an update.
Car has been at dealer since yesterday to have fluid changed out and have them check out that exhaust rattle. When they were putting in paperwork regarding the work being done, Ford got involved. The had the tech check a few...
It's any gear. Even reverse has the scratch.
If I'm not in gear I hear nothing. Didn't think to mention that. It is only when I'm in gear with the clutch out that I hear anything. Though you've given me the idea to try coasting in gear with the clutch pressed again to make sure I'm not crazy.
Took that suggestion. Was not able to replicate the sound before the engine won out over the handbrake.
Did some other tests while out on a quick beer run:
1. The scratch actually seems like it is constant while in gear, just very faint.
B. Transitioning between engine brake and light...
Willing to discount for local pickup. Located in Harford County Maryland.
SOLD $400 shipped Cobb AP. It is unmarried and good to go. Has a MAPerformance map on it for '15 EB w/PP and manual. I'd consult with them before running it if your car is not specced the same. You'll need adhesive for...
Wouldn't surprise me in the slightest.
While I think there's a good chance you're right, what happens now is up to the dealer. I gave them the info I had and they're going another way with it. The foreman, tech and service writer at the dealer I'll be working with all seemed legitimately...
Yea I saw that thread a while back. Was considering a fluid swap on my EB just to see if it was everything it was all cracked up to be, but never did it because my MT-82 was shifting fine.
That said, I'm having no issue with shifting at all. The actual action of the transmission feels exactly...
That's what popped into my head when he first mentioned it. I was thrown for a loop once they mentioned the additive was sourced from a 3rd party chemical company though. I just assumed that the additive Ford normally uses would be easily sourceable from Ford. I didn't push him on it too much...
TLDR at the bottom for those that don't want any details and just the result.
Brought my car to the local dealer, told them everything. They initially couldn't replicate sound and asked me to drive and point it out. Shop foreman gets in with me. I make it happen for half a second and he...
Most definitely. An X or H pipe is definitely in the plans, though I'll probably have them just sort this out with OEM parts since I've barely passed 300 miles. Don't want to change the way anything sounds until I'm sure what it's all actually supposed to sound like lol.
I'll update this...
I had a much larger reply written on my phone, but before submitting I decided to run out and shake/smack the exhaust a little bit per GT Pony's suggestion.
GT Pony, you may be today's lucky winner.
Using a rubber mallet, tapping the front of the resonator towards the engine results in a...
Thanks for the thoughts guys. I know its tough to come up with ideas without actually being there and I appreciate the effort. I can eliminate rubbing the front splitter, but I can see where that sounds similar. The exhaust is an interesting suggestion I hadn't considered.
Here's another...
I am not sure if this is an issue, or just a sound I need to get used to but I have to ask to be sure. Tried doing some searching here but didn't find anything relevant (at least with the search terms I used).
Minor details about car before getting into the details: 2016 GT w/PP 300 miles. No...
