Happy for you. Sucks you had to pull it apart, so glad your engine is good. Good luck getting it back together. And 3 hours out of the car, impressive.

Also OP, I wouldn't worry too much about the staining if you can't feel it on your finger. It's also probably wise to try and clean up the bottom end as best of you can of the old contaminated oil, it tends to be hard on bearings.
I definitely did a deep clean on the bottom end.

Yep same thing happened to me. 3 Studs loose. My bearings spun and I noticed when I tore it apart. I am going to make a warning post. I sent them to apex and they said they saw no issue with them.
Yeah mine where definitely more then 3, loose, tight, super loose, super tight, it was all over the place. Sad to say money was wasted on those.

When did you get yours? I got mine in early October 2022.

Mine were the same, several loose, several hand tight, several torqued lightly, and some seemed to be at torque spec. I put 5k miles on the engine and I'm sure in another 5k the engine would have done the same as yours.

Yeah once my car overheated and blew a head gasket, i tore it down immediately because it just didn’t seem possible that with everything new on my build and 8k miles i blow a headgasket?! Not possible until i saw it was the headstuds that were the failure.

Yep I am "lucky" my bearings spun and I found it before I blew a head gasket haha.

So update! Car has been running good, just installed a new clutch so i had to baby it for a while. I ordered ARP studs and put them in with a new head gasket, NGK spark plugs, MMR cooling mod since the block is already out again, radium coolant reservoir, and PP1 radiator.

I also got the heads and block checked, all was good. But weird thing is, is that the car sounds a little deeper now for some reason, I’m not sure if the mufflers were damaged from the coolant and oil mixture in the exhaust gases but it’s kinda throwing me off. Sounds more throaty on pulls, compression is good and no leaks, no check engine light so I’m kinda wondering why it sounds different. So far i emailed APEX Torque and no reply sadly, i might make a call because it kinda ridiculous that i spent money on these headstuds and they failed.

They haven’t emailed me back. Smh
They didn't email me back either I had to go through beefcakeracing (the place I purchased the studs from) before they started responding to my emails.
