Our 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport 2.0t gets about 25 mpg on average with 26k miles. Our Ecoboost with 3k miles gets 19 mpg average. This despite the fact that the Mustang has a better mpg rating than the Hyundai CUV. My 2012 Hyundai Genesis coupe 3.8 GT also started out under 20 mpg and eventually settled into 24-25 range after about 10k miles.

I expect the Mustang to also settle down eventually.
See I can get 18, maybe 19mpg if I conscientiously drive conservatively or what most people would call "normal." But if I enjoy my car, which I do :D, I get down to 12mpg easy.. and if I do a mix of conservative and fun I still can barely muster 14mpg.. this thing is not at all happy driving under 40mph which most city driving is at.. so if I ever get pulled over I'm gonna have to tell the cop the reason I'm going 20 over is to save the environment.. and that tire squeal from a stop is just a factory defect.. Lol.

I cancelled my extended service contract after talking to my local dealer. They let me know that if I mod the car that most likely the claims would get denied. Got my money back in about a month.
The best part about upgrading the Mustang is having fun doing it and not worrying about what will happen later.
If the 4 banger goes, then it would be time for a V8 upgrade or a 3.5L V6 Ecoboost swap. No use buying a GT.
How long after you got it did you cancel it? It's been 6 months for me, you think it's doable?

You can cancel your extended warranty at any time and any remaining time left in warranty they will send you a check for since you paid for it already in your loan.

Yeah see.. I looked on the website, they have a 30-day money back guarantee.. I'm not so sure you can cancel after 30 days.. I'll have to find out eventually.

You can cancel the extended warrenty anytime as long as you have not started using it. Just tell the dealer you want to cancel it and do the paperwork, BLAM! Money..... I always do it if I have to get the GAP insurance and I trade the car in before paying it off. They just pro-rate what is left on the contract and send you money for that.

When your experiences differ so much from the majority then yes something is wrong with your car, go get it fixed instead of whining about how much you regret buying the car and how you can't wait to get another car. Your car is not working as intended by the manufacturer so your experience is skewed.
Do not feed the trolls!!!

Just drove from Atl to Birmingham, all hwy with traffic at 70-75 and got 32mpg over 2 tanks of gas calculated by hand. Your car definitely has something wrong with it. Why are you afraid to take it to the dealer? They aren't going to require you to get a colonoscopy first...

Make sure your tires have the correct amount of air at all times. Not hard to due with the Premium as the display shows all 4 tires. I run 2 lbs under specs cold on the Mustang so I don't expect to get the best mpg.

See this is the problem.. nobody reads.

I have said a million times now, I drive 95-98% on city surface streets where speed limits range from 25-40mph max. In the city, in traffic, during times of heavy congestion (morning, weekends) where I do all my driving, I average 12ish mpg when driving enthusiastically, 18ish if I drive slower than my dead grandma.

On the highway, I easily get the EPA or better when cruising, this thing loves to remain above 55mph, it easily nets 35mpg all day at 65-70mph.

I'm not "afraid" to take my car to the dealer, I am busy working over 60 hours a week on salary mind you, so no time and a half for me..

And, I did take my car to my dealer, I told them I wanted them to inspect it, I described my issues to them in writing, they confirmed my emails and when I arrived they did absolutely nothing.. in fact, it took them 3 hours to change my damn oil. So, next oil change, I will take it to another dealer and hopefully get it looked at this time, otherwise I'm not going out of my way to get it looked at because I'm pretty sure there's nothing wrong with it.

And yeah, the tire pressures are all off.. that's another thing my stupid dealer was supposed to fix when they changed the oil (nitrogen filled) but they didn't, because they're terrible.
