Honestly would not be surprised if Ford never published true sales numbers for the v6. They may not like that data much as it may cause some execs to have eggs in their faces.

Yes, we have a limited data set. But if we suppose that Ford only placed the V-6 in the Mustang to provide a lower price point, then the Ford Mustang Marketing Group must be wondering what to do next. The Camaro V-6 push in their new version changes marketing strategies I believe. If the Mustang V-6 is really selling well in large numbers, and I have no way to tell yet, can Ford afford to kill off a good engine seller?

One guy in Post #128 states that the V-6 is selling well on the West Coast( California). And another guy in Post#133 reports that the V-6 is selling well on the East Coast(Maryland)...would it be a stretch to say that the V-6 is selling well "Coast to Coast"?
It is the cheapest mustang out there.... and if they count sales to rental companies (if they are sold to rental companies, I don't know), I'm sure it will "win".

But a couple of people blabbing off on the internet is hardly something I'd hang my hat on.

No other verts here... someone in my building does have a cocaine EB though.

Rental companies purchase the cars for their fleets. And they do not only buy only one engine exclusively. The EB convertibles are also very common in Florida presently.

It's an observation. Not sure where you are but last I checked, the USofA is a huge ass country.

As I stated above, doubt Ford would advertise success of the red-headed stepchild of their Mustang line. I'm sure not alone in wishing they would.

DC metro.. unlike Spartan, I don't see ANY v6 mustangs.... seen a cocaine EB in my building and another blood EB on the street today.

I did see one at national but I think that was a GT since it sounded like one (might have been a v6 with mods, dunno). I was talking to the lady sitting beside me and moving in slow ish traffic.

USA is huge... no doubt... like I said, the V6 is the cheapest so who knows. I run a business and my lowest product actually sells the worst. But I don't sell cars. lol

V6 is a nice engine, no doubt. All depends on how many Premium models they sold outside of GT premium.

I've seen mostly V6s/EBs with an occasional GT.

The Mustang sub-group of Ford needs all three engine lines to sell well for Ford to continue to put money into development. The Mustang does not compete only against the other muscle cars, it competes internally against other Ford vehicles for corporate funds. Mustang sales numbers have to be robust no matter which engine the car has. Believe it or not, Mustang sales have to produce profits against every other Ford product. What sells well for the most profit per unit is what Ford continues to sell. That's how it worked when Henry Ford started the company and it's still that way.

Buy what you like...the car is so configurable..and it's one of the most modified cars on the planet...pick your motor, pick your skin, and run with it!. The car was in it's origins was supposed to be unique to the buyer...let it be just that... I'm just glad to be part of the Pony family..We all have a great palette to work from. Enjoy!

As far as I know the breakdown of Eco, V6, GT up until March was as follows:

V6 25%
EB 25%
GT 50%

I don't know what the breakdown for April or May was but that's what it's been since they went on sale. I've said it in many other places in this forum- visual mods will be plentiful because the cars all look the same, interior Mods should be good as V6 customers only get base interiors so expect stereos with Touchscreens, leather, etc. to be offered. The V6 already has some performance parts out with more on the way. The aftermarket will support the V6 if it continues selling well and people demand upgrades. Supply must meet demand but demand must be vocal as well :)

99% of all 2015 Mustang Fastback/Coupes and Convertibles on the road here in Florida that are part of different Rental Car Fleets and as a vast majority of privately owned Units have all be equipped with the upgraded 051A Package. Who would have figured that Rental Car Companies would have added an extra $1000 Option to a Rental? Guess they are counting on those beautiful 18`` Foundry Wheels, Fog Lamps and Power Drivers Seat with lumbar support adjustment to return the extra cost eventually at trade in or auction time. You can count the number of Base V6 Fastback/Coupes and Convertibles with the (base) 17`` Sparkle Alloy Wheels seen on the road on one hand.
