I didn't even consider even vs odd firing.... Still though the 2.3 should have a bit of a unique sound no? 3 vales per cylinder instead of 4, .3l displacement difference, and that new header design Ford was highlighting. That header design should make the biggest difference in sound.Ford's Special Vehicle Operations later turned into SVT so I doubt you'll see any SVO nameplates again. There could be an SVT model for it though.
It should sound just like the 1.6L and 2.0L EcoBoosts do because they are even fire motors vs. odd fire motors like the Mazda 2.3L DISI and Chrysler 2.4L. It's the same principal in the flat plane crank V8s vs the cross plane crank V8s.

other way around, i had a tbird turbo coupe in 83. dont think the svo was out till 85.. also owned a xr4ti, and an 89 supercoupe.. then a scorpio.It's not a 3v. The SVO was only a limited production special model that sold well for the numbers they were produced in. The R&D that went into that also found it's way onto other Fords like the Thunderbird Turbo Coupe and Mercury Cougar XR-7 Turbo.
Honestly, I bet it almost sounds like that already. You can sorta hear the EB has a low rumble...it's just not that of the V8. When all these 2.3's rev their engine it still sounds like a 4 cylinder.If aftermarket companies can get our ecoboost's to sound like this I will be a happy camper.... :clap2:
