Just noticed Lookers and Stoneacre doing the 0% deals. Also with good GMFV figures in the pcp deals. These two factors have made the monthlies very affordable.
I’ve wanted one of these cars so much, I made the first post in this section of the forum back in Aug 2014. But since then I’ve had...
Pricing up a V8, selecting 36 saves £89 over the 24 months
You spend 1400 more on interest, but the final payment is only £2400 less over 36 months. So you're battling heavier depreciation over 24 months.
Yeah, that's right.
The residual value matters when they work out a GMFV or final payment. That's with PCP deals obviously.
For a hire purchase, £6,000 deposit + £500x60 sounds reasonable(ish)
On a £33,000 V8 i'd hope for a GMFV figure of about 15,000 on a 3 year deal, and maybe £19,000...
I'm sure I read that the Euro version GT put out quite a lot less CO2 than the US version. So I think it'll have something to do with the cat. Still about £500 to tax anyway.
Yeah, the estimate prices quoted by AutoExpress etc are pretty good.
Options is an interesting thing.... if we get the PP (or most of it) as standard, it's only really going to be interior options required for me. On the US configurator there really aren't that many options once you've chosen...
Good, that's what I am hoping for.
I guess Ford will have finance deals available when the cars available to order. Sooner the better, so hope that's Q1 2015.
I would be planning on purchasing the car with a PCP type of deal. or Ford Options, I think it's called in this case.
How reasonable do you think this type of finance will turn out in this case?
What I mean is... spending £34k on a Ford would usually result in quite high monthly payments as...
It's a UK review... I'm pretty sure the 228 costs about £29k, the same as the EB. Also an intelligent review would consider the cost of ownership, not just the figure in the window. The 228 is about 58bhp down on the EB in the UK, but the weight will make a lot if that up.
Everything I have read on the 235 suggests it's the best affordable, compact performance car available in Europe right now. No car is perfect, but this is obviously strong praise. I've read that it's very frugal, to the point where it's economy is actually mentioned, which is unusual for a...
Don't percieve these reviews as so negative. He actually scored it an overall 4 out of 5.
Yes, he said the Focus ST somehow sounded better and the engine doesn't feel as nice as the Gold R's. Also it's a bit tight on rear seat space.
Overall though it's not bad, because he didn't really...
You're right, it was a slightly backhanded compliment.
I'd only defend him based on the fact I've read a lot of his reviews and tend to think they're well written and agreeable.
Maybe we are reading different articles because I thought he made those comments in comparison to an M235i. In which case I'd hardly disagree.
Also, British car reviews the to be quite critical. Not much gets 5, and even a good car can get 3.
Ha, we don't kiss their asses quite, but it's obvious how good the M235i is. If it's a smidge faster than the old GT despite being decidedly down on power, that confirms that. If only BMW could remember how to make cars look visually appealing.
That's kind of a good point. US reviews tend to focus on comparisons to the 2014 car, which is obviously all about improvements, and not that relevant to the UK.
