I am still learning my 2019 car and have a question. To use the physical key to unlock the car, the owner's manual and some online videos show using the metal blade key to push up in a slot under the handle and then back to take a cover off. Then, this exposes the key slot for unlocking. I have tried, and although I feel slight upward movement of the key blade, I cannot move the plastic cover rearward. And I don't want to get violent with it and break it. How hard should it be necessary to push up on the blade and then to remove the cap reward?

Apply gradually increasing force until it comes off.

Or, just stop fing with it. It's pointless. Just put new batteries in your remotes & car so you never have to use the key.

It is a little hard to remove it, I had a hard time removing mine. A decent amount of force is needed.

Be advised that it's quite possible that it will never fit the same after you remove it the first time. It might be fine, but it might not.
I made that mistake on my 17, it never fit quite the same again. I'm not touching the 23 unless I have too.

The battery used in the "key" is a size that's pretty common to a number of small controllers and remotes. I keep a supply of them handy. They are much cheaper buying a pack of 6 or 8 at a big box store or Amazon. A 6 pack cost $10 at Home Depot. They were $4.49 each at Walgreens.

I've used the emergency key a couple of times. No post use fitment issues at all. You could never tell it was used.
As an aside, using the emergency key does not disable the alarm. If the fob is not nearby the alarm will sound quite loudly and annoyingly as soon as the door is opened.
