I only have 600 miles on my GT but at least a half dozen 0-100 or 20-120 mph runs and it feels loose on the front end.

Any chance mods that shave off 3 seconds or more off Streets of Willow will make my car feel more stable or should I just ignore it since I probably will never take it to a road course and only rarely take it to a drag strip?
That's just how they feel. They are not european cars. I had the same feel but it's just heavy up front and mcpherson strut not a-arms so it will feel floaty upfront. However, I bought the Mustang GT knowing it won't be a great handling car compared to what I am used to. yes they have improved tons but that's only comparing it against previous gen mustangs. It's still a heavy loose porker that grips well but doesn't inspire confidence while doing so and feels loose. I'm only taking it to drag and if I cared for track use Mustang including all the way up to GT500 would have not been in my radar. Prefer Porsche, corvette or S2000, anything with double wishbone front and rear suspension setups. Even Miata lol

Just what I said earlier;
someone is going to have to prove to me they can outrun or out drive me on my 'racetrack'.

I have driven this road for 40+ years in every kind of vehicle (short of real race cars).
I smoked a guy that was driving a diesel pick up; but what I really want is someone in a Camaro that can
drive as well as I can..........:like:
I believe I saw that clip on MotorTrend, the GT whipped the 1LE in the one mile drag.

But the 1LE beat the GT by 3 seconds on Streets of Willow, same driver for both vehicles. He said the GT was great on the street but too soft on the track, I would be curious what it would take to cut 3 seconds off the GT time?
All the Mustang needed to beat the 1LE was a driver.
Always heard MotorTrend TV was Chevy sympathetic..............

Gunslit side windows, poor visibility, ugly front end, cheaper interior? ;)
LOL. Have you driven an SS? Visibility is hardly an issue. The interior is as good or better than the Mustang. I've owned both. And the base manual '19 GT I had didn't feel like 460hp to me either.

A base SS feels like a comfortable, fast sports car. A base GT feels like comfortable, fast car. The handling on the SS is noticeably better and more confidence inspiring.

Took my 2019 GT CS over to a Chevy dealer while I was still evaluating buying it. Test drove a 2019 2SS with a 10 speed to compare.

Yes the visibility still sucks, yes the interior is still not as good, for some reason the 2SS felt sluggish compared to the GT CS (perhaps the Ford 10 speed is peppier?), the 2SS did feel more confident handling wise (I'm sure the summer tires vs AS tires helped), and the NPP exhaust was no where near as good as the AE.

After that I took the salesman for a ride in the GT CS. He and I both agreed the GT CS was the superior car. He likened it to the new RAM that is killing their truck sales. :cwl:

Edit: Forgot to add that the new rear view mirror display is quite weird and would take some getting used to...like new glasses with a new prescription. Luckily you can turn it off.

Interior's are subjective but I find the Camaro SS interior better than the Mustang....easily. The SS A10 is a rocket ship and smoother than the GTs without question. Sluggish? LMAO.
No jerkiness, no constant gear hunting. I drove both repeatedly. The GT doesn't even feel like a performance car after getting out of a Camaro. It just feels like a tall fast car. It doesn't even close to providing confidence of a base SS which feels like scalpel on curvy roads where the Mustang feels like a Buick in comparison. That's fine if you want a fast cruiser. But the GT CS being the superior car is laughable. In visibility maybe but nothing else.

Apparently myself, the Chevy salesman, and the rest of the world (based on sales) are wrong. Cool story.

I have a lot of track time in different sports cars and the GT is not tall, and is not a Buick.

I would GLADLY take a bunch more torque and loose 500 RPM or so off the top and even 50 HP less at redline.
2018 F150 intake?

I’ve had the Camaro SS as a rental and I agree the visibility knack is overrated. While the Mustang has better visibility, I was never put off by the Camaro’s. The Camaro has loads of low-end torque so it will always feel faster. It really depends where you want your power delivered as both A10 cars run nearly identical times. A lot of what you said isn’t better but preference, and what you prefer. The only thing I agree is in general, the Camaro handles better than the Mustang.

Yes, the GT A10 is 0.1 seconds faster than the SS A10 in both 0-60 and in the 1/4 mile. The GT, however, traps 2-3 mph more than the SS A10. Which means that the GT is pulling away from the SS at the end of the 1/4 mile. I don't get the low end torque complaints. The 5.0 is made to be revved and it sounds amazing up top. For comparable low end torque just put it one gear lower than if you were in the SS. No biggie, you just have to run the GT at a little bit higher rpm than the SS. So what you might do in the SS at 2,500, you'd want around 3,000 rpm in the GT. And that's OK, because it has a 1,000 rpm higher redline. My 2 cents.

^^^^^ But I only have 10 gears. What if I needed that 11th?
