Even for plastic... the disturbance is minute and is or can be tuned via software

Only one way to solve that million dollar question is for Ford to answer it then hopefully it will end this ongoing thread
Bingo. Will be glad when we finally can put this and the whole 68B thing to bed.

Well, if the site builder is right, then the grills are exactly how Tricia explained. Not affected in any way by ACC.

The configurator shows the fangs for the grills until you select the 50th anniv package and then you get the corralled upper grill and the closed lower grill (ie no fangs at all).

So, the owners manual just happens to show where it's located on a car with the 50th package or LE, and was not trying to indicate that it will look like that for all cars with ACC. It's just showing its location.

Now I'm wanting the 50th package. I like the corralled grill and closed off lower grill better than the fangs. I also really do want the embossed 50th seats. I'm not really fond of the white stitching though, I don't do well with white. Oh the decision.

I suppose I'll call the dealer and see if it's too late to add the 50th package. Then figure out how much I 'need' this.

Well, since I originally started this thread, I'll comment again, as to why the Cars with ACC Will Not Have Either the Wavy Honeycomb or Fanged Lower Grill, Regardless of whether they Both have Blocked Off Sections at either end. The Reason they have Blocked Sections is for Aerodynamics and Optimal Airflow to the Radiator. The cars with ACC however cannot use these Pieces because the way the system works is it Sends and Receives Radar/Sonar Waves to Measure Distance between Your Car and the Car in Front of You. The Wavy Honeycomb and Fanged Honeycomb GT Lower Grills have Too Many Nooks and Crannies for those Waves to Get Lost In when Bouncing Back to the System, which is Why Ive said from the Beginning that the Straight Line Lower Grill from the LE With it's Smooth Flat Ends is the Grill used for the Adaptive Cruise Control.
Jesus H. Christ.

Plastic is transparent to RF energy. There might possibly be some slight attenuation with a non-smooth grille, but it would be minimal, if it existed at all. I've worked with RF, both radar jammers and radar warning receivers, for over 30 years. I have some idea of what I am talking about.

I think you're wrong. The flat lower grille is just the V6 lower grille (also used by the LE & 50 Years cars), and the finally complete build & price website bears this out. All of your "evidence" is just pre-production variation.

I bet that lower grill was re-used from another product line or something that was more readily available than the EB honeycomb or the GT Fang lower, which is why we saw so many prototypes with the mix-match grills (non-50th). At least that's what I hope....I like the look of the fang upper and matching lower but also want ACC. If it comes with the plain lower grill with fang upper it looks odd to me. Not a deal breaker, but I've been touting between getting the 50th package or not and this is one of the things that would help with this decision. I still wouldn't trust the B&P 100% even if it has "gone live"....with Ford Marketing's trail record as of late I wouldn't be surprised if they're still issues with it.

I called and got the 50th appearance package added. I didn't think there was enough value in there at first, but after seeing the build site, I've changed my mind. The corralled pony, the stitching, the embossing on the seat, the premium leather.

The dealer made the change and it stuck, so I now know exactly what my car will look like.

Listen to what colleton just said... it is radar or doppler... plastics, even uneven ones, the distortion is minimal and even with that it can be tuned or adjusted by software/firmware ... he is in radars...rf and such for many years as I have been with the navy for the last 19 with the Seabees and 3 of it on the water with the coast guard but been around the military all my life. Tech has come a long ways from the 70s with those items obviously at a fraction of its size... anyways. Bottom point is distortion is minimal if any at all... I still think the grilles are model specific as stated in earlier posts... and yes, most people like a matching set[emoji2]

JESUS FREAKIN CHRIST...

Seriously Colleton?

Both of These DIB and Magnetic GT's have the ACC. You can see the LED Warning Strip in the Dash that reflects in the windshield. (Look closely at the Dash in front of the Driver side at the base of the windshield) if You'll Notce they Both Also have the Fanged Upper Grill but have the Straight Lower Grill with the Blanked Out Smooth Ends, and are Both Premium Trim Models as noted by the Painted Diffuser. I Stand By My Initial Post.

BTW For those Quoting that the Build and Price Configurator "Confirming" that ACC doesn't change anything, don't forget that the Configurator still isn't Finalized. It still shows White Door Inserts on Black Interior Cars too...

They also have boxes bolted to the top of the drivers side dash. So what? They're pre-production cars.

Whatever. Believe what You Want, but We'll See Once they Hit the Lots. But I still think I'm Right based on Evidence Seen and Provided from the Design and Placement of the System on Other Ford Products with ACC, to the Pictures like the ones above, to the illustration from the Owners Manual.
