I'm stuck! Two months ago I was at my dealer getting an inspection on my 2020 GT Premium that i purchased from them last February. They wanted to sell me their GT500 with an ADM of $14,000.00 I politely told them I was not interested because of the ADM. Typical dealer they ran some numbers for me and dropped the ADM by 5K. The salesman was so excited because they have not done that for anyone. Well I turned it down and told them I couldn't do anything over MSRP. Yesterday I got the phone call that they would drop the ADM if I was still interested. I am, but after last couple months I have been looking at colors and was pretty much set on FPB with white stripes or Rapid Red and Black stripes. Their car is White with Kona Blue Stripes and Side Stripes. I don't dislike white, heck every truck I buy is white and currently driving a white 2020/2500 Denali. The GT500 is a beautiful car and I know in the end it's just a mustang but I wonder if I will be bored with the dual clutch and the color. I think I am more concerned about the fact it has a DC transmission than anything.

Most importantly, if you ask ANY current owner about the DCT, you will get nothing but HIGH PRAISE and shouldn't those be the folks who know? Believe me, the Tremec gearbox is nothing short of amazingly magic. Intoxicating.

But, if you don't really want the car, pass.

Just go for it, you only live twice. Stop being a biatch jk But don't eff with the dealership if you really want it. Unless you just came here for a pat on the back.

My advice is treat the deal as two separate transactions. Are you getting a good deal buying the 500? Next question, are you getting a fair trade for your current vehicle?

If the answer is no to either question, then pass.

Dealers really like to throw the package deal in your face. They make it look like they are giving you a good deal on the sale, but wind up raping you on the trade.

Never get talked into a car you don't really want - for any price. You went in for your GT. If you do want a 500, get the color and set up you want at the price you are willing to pay.

Agreed ... coming from a brand new owner! Don't settle. Your spec is out there, heck if they are so excited convince them to swap for the one you want. They can work for you.
