Got a call from my dealer this AM they have a GT available. I'm going to pay some ADM, I've reconciled the ADM after much thought and they were totally reasonable with the ADM. I'm torn between painted stripes and vinyl. Thoughts?

Otherwise, Iconic with painted roof and all available stripes ( I have a plan for these as well ,in addition to some help from Terrance, which when I get the car Ill post pics).

Painted stripes all the way. It just sucks you have to deal with the Penske fiasco if you do.

If you don't, then that will be the question for the rest of your life.... "Hey man, why didnt you get the painted stripes"?

I wrestled with the dilemma when I ordered my car. I opted to not get them first. Then I thought more and more about it. I caved in and changed my order.

Dave: You really have to see some painted stripes in person to appreciate the workmanship, mine are perfect and I do mean perfect. (Think Ford GT quality.)

I've had vinyl on my '14 since it was new, replaced a few sections after PPF but it has held up remarkably well, (if you take care of it.)

And, from a distance, only a trained eye could tell which is which. But my thing is "feel" and I've never liked detecting those edges when washing and waxing. Plus, you need to be ultra-careful when using a polisher.

Are they worth it? That can only be answered by the person spending the money. As Tom said, I wouldn't have it any other way.

and then youd have had to get the CFTP option. Because the question for the rest of your life would have been..... "Hey man, are those painted stripes? Why didn't you get the CFTP option"?

Meh / personal preference. I don’t do stripes. I had an all white GT350R and nothing but compliments for going stripeless. (Ps did you know stripeless sometimes autocorrects to strippers?)

Lol, stripper less is sometimes a good thing!
Shelby and stripes are kinda hand in hand. The black roof, I’m just partial too it, think it adds a little character. Alas, they took the order and deposit. We shall see when it’s confirmed and accepted. Gotta say, kinda stoked .

2016 Shelby GT350, 2017 Ford Focus ST, On Order 2020 CTFP Shelby GT 500 with POTTS. Car is released and awaiting shipment. I am running out of time before having to leave for Japan on July 29th.
Why not get the POTTS? At this point when you paid as much as you did for the car $10K more isn't going to make or break the deal. I ordered the POTTS and Tom is right the Penske black hole is a pain but I believe it will be worth the wait and the cost. If you don't get them I am pretty sure you will regret it later.

I'd love an iconic CFTP with black roof and no stripes. if you think you'd ever change your mind down the road, the vinyl would obviously be the choice.

if i were dead set on stripes though, i'd go penske.

So, very new here. Have had 4 V6 Mustangs and am waiting on my ordered new GT Vert. But, not a knowledgeable car guy in the least. But still love my cars a ton.

So, I wrote that because I saw one of these threads as I was browsing, and have now read 3 or 4 of them, and I have absolutey no clue what any of you are talking about. Anyone wanna fill in a naive newbie? Lol
