So, has anybody bothered to check on the MSRP deals for CFTPs?

You have a better chance getting Covid-19 than getting a CFTP at msrp :cwl:

Back to the topic at hand, eh. And here I thought we had turned this into a more useful thread.
Ok, I'll find some more aircraft silhouettes

I am honestly amazed that not one person got 100 on the RECCE quiz. I believe you had the best, Captain Dave, with ALMOST three out of five. :-)

Answers: North American T-28 Trojan / Beachcraft Kingair H-90 (Navy T-44 Pegasus) / Lockheed P-3 Orion / Boeing 727-200 / Airbus A-300-600.

And Trevman, I never mentioned my former profession until someone asked so go easy, huh?

All: Sure wish we could have a contest to guess whether they're real or not. Dang rules. <smile>
Well I totally wiffed on the first one. I knew the 2nd one was a Kingair 90, just didn’t know what submodel, so I took a chance on the U-21 that I used to fly. Next 2 were pretty easy. Last one, was either an A-300 or an A-310. I consider almost 3 out of 5 acceptable, hahaha.

Sorry for the delayed response but we had a perimeter violation. Specifically, a squirrel in the Oak tree out back. Dobies don't much like rodents. :-)

Took me awhile with, as Jimmy B said, "..my trusty pellet gun," trying to "persuade the bugger to go elsewhere" (and stop my dogs from BARKING!)

Anyway...

My guesses are:

757
Narrowbody Bus but not which
F5/T38
RC135?
747
MD80ish
T37

How'd I do, teach? :-)
Not bad grasshopper, just a little late to the game.

I was on squirrel safari so don't I get some sort of dispensation, Tom? <smile>

And roger on your answers but a U-21/C-12 have T-tails while the H-90 does not. <wink>

But yep on the other two. The professor told me he'd give you credit for those. ;-)

You Navy guys have every excuse in the book. Next, you will claim you were on a Snipe hunt.

That gave me an excellent morning laugh, Don.

I used to tell my Navy flight students to get ready for crummy BOQ's and crappy ground trans at nearly every Navy base.

But I would go on to tell them that if they were lucky enough to get to layover at an AIR FORCE BASE, they would be AMAZED by the higher quality of everything except perhaps, the chow halls. Navy cooks are just better. :-)

Back in the day, it was astounding to see radio alarm clocks and microwaves in the AF BOQ, (for the life of me, I can't recall what you guys call 'em.)

I bet a few of them remembered that briefing down the road when they found themselves in a twenty-year old Econoline GNDOPS van that had no air con chicken, filthy as any competent dump site, cans, paper, and empty cigarette packs strewn everywhere, etc., etc., for the first time :-)

Ah, I remembered...VOQ's. :-)

Exactly!
BTW: They weren’t that nice in the early ‘70’s. Think an old, rundown Motel 6.
Now, they are more like a Holiday Inn. Oh wait, they are a Holiday Inn!

Well, I don't know if you ever had the esteemed privilege of spending the night in a Navy BOQ, Don but I'm here to tell you, in the early '80's, VOQ's were all ten times better than the BEST BOQ.

I know the guys who commuted to drill were involved during the switch to local hotels and at the time, they liked it. But, for me, I'd rather be on Base and close to the chow hall. :-)

When I was an E-5 (before going to OTS), I was transiting Norfolk NAS on a space A flight. Anyway, I was stuck there do a connection that didn't happen. I had the pleasure of seeing how the Navy does things. I got to experience first hand open bay bunks..... oh the horrors. Talk about sleeping with one eye open. Its a good thing that the ship wasn't just in after a long cruise.

OMG, that is HILARIOUS, Tom!

And, good on ya for the upgrade and I too have been in an open bunk room more than once but never on a bote.
I was waiting for it... at any moment I was expecting the Village People to come walking in the door. I thought to myself, "you cheap bastard, next time buy an airline ticket".
