Returned my m5 (actually did so even before lease was up as it was taking up space and insurance money). I have been daily driving the gt350 since october. It has seen salt, ice, snow, dirt and its still going strong. Heck ny wife drives it more than I do now.

I wash the underside once every 2 weeks, xpel protects the paint well and I m so glad I drive this car everyday.

And yes it outhandles my friend’s wrangler (with all seasons) and qx80 in snow and no the salt didnt melt through the panels and it still sees 8250 rpm when oil temp is high enough.

Life is too short, dont keep a car like this in your garage half the year because you are afraid it will rust or you think rwd plus 526 hp plus winter dont mix.

Oh and the black electrical tape on the grills work amazing its like all fluid temps are as they were in spring.

I would get no joy driving a GT 350 in salt, ice, snow, dirt. If I could afford a GT 350, I could surely afford a cheap beater to take abuse in the winter. But that's just me.

I could never bring myself to drive a beater when I have something I love driving at home. The beater mentality means you loose out on putting a smile on your face for 25% of the year.

Great going! Cars are meant to be used, even more so ones like ours that are so enjoyable. I DD mine too, to work, getting groceries, whatever and those fun runs in the mountains and canyons that make it all worth it. I’m not saving it for the next guy.

Exactly. This “beater” mentality isnt for me.

My choice is entirely due to my own selfish reasons of me not being able to stay away from the car. Financially its a no brainer. The car is so well balanced and easy to drive.

But the gas mileage - not conducive to daily driving, in my opinion, but I'm extra frugal.

Love my beater. 02 grand cherokee black with grey bumpers and moldings. Iron straight 6 and 4wd. Its so common I lose it in the supermarket parking lot. I dont care about dents, scratches or dings. Sometimes I'll ghost ride a shopping cart into it for a laugh.. then the snow clears and I drive my 350 again and then I hate the jeep again:D:lol:

To each their own. I choose to keep mine in like new shape. Not saving it for the next guy because there will be no next guy. It sings in the spring till Nov and sleeps from Nov until April. Stays in the garage when not being driven and will look and run like new forever.

Mine wasn't intended to be completely a daily driver but currently in FL with only one vehicle (wifey can't drive for a few months) so this is it. The car sucks gas but I'm loving it. At least no salt, snow or ice to contend with down here.

I DD a GT500 from '09 through '15. Rain, shine, hot or cold. I DD my GT350 for the 1st year of ownership, then bought a used Fusion to be my DD during winter and inclement weather.

Personally, I've enjoyed having another car to use as my daily when it's cold or rainy. There's no way on earth that I'd drive the 350 during a northern winter with snow, ice and salt everywhere. Nope.

I DD mine but the fuel mileage and cost of premium are not really conducive to putting 15 - 20K on it a year. However, it does do better than my Lightning PU and my old Muscle Cars by a considerable margin, I cringe about getting it dirty when it rains and if we have snow or ice I sit out a couple days of work while the dorky drivers around here get the ice rink mentality worked out of their system (and into the collision repair shops) and the sand/salt are knocked off the roadways. But I'm retired and just consult part time so I can afford this. Everyone has their own priorities and situations.

OP - good on ya for driving the car year round & it seems like you're doing what you can to mitigate corrosion. I ride the middle ground. My car wears snow tires (Michelin Pilot Alpine 3&4) in the winter, but I don't take it out when there's snow on the road. We get a bunch of snow, but we also have periods of sunny weather when the roads are completely dry. It would be a shame to leave the GT350 inside on those days.

I DD mine unless it’s snowing, because I don’t have snow tires.
