5'9 here and my wife is 5'8. We have two different car seats and the smaller profile one makes a big difference.. The big chair takes up a lot of space in the wrx too though

To those parents who are driving Mustangs (or some other fun car), I salute you. Never give up fun for practicality if you can help it.

Ah HELL Yeah!!

Did "dad-duty" in a '66 coupe, '83 GT and an '03 Convertible. My boys LOVED the Mustangs ... so did the kids in school. In fact they both took the '66 to their proms.

Did that in my '03 vert with my oldest, but he was seven at the time, so it only lasted one year. My youngest, eight now, doesn't even use a booster anymore.

And yes, taking them to school when other dads are driving vans....PRICELESS!

I don't daily drive my S197, but my kids (a very tall 10 year old daughter and 5 year old boy) always come with me and my wife to car events :)

Only downside for me is if I have to try and help my boy put his seatbelt on, as my back is bad at the best of times.

I can totally see the attraction of an SUV (my wife has an XC90) as the kids have a tonne of space back there......and there's no bending over to clip them in........but those of you that DD with kids, I salute you

While I wait for the GT350, I took my wife and 5-yr-old son to a local dealer along with a spare car seat just to see how it all fit in the back of a GT. I was remarkably surprised at how much room my son had in the back seat with the front passenger seat adjusted so my wife (5'5") would be comfortable.

My wife and I have 3 Mustangs and a minivan (her daily driver). My 4 and 8 year old kids love the Mustangs. It did take my 8 year old and I about a week to find a position for the driver's seat that was comfortable for both of us, but neither of them have complained about it in months! It recently got a little easier as my 4 year old is now in a booster which makes strapping in quite a bit easier. The 4 year old sits on the passenger side and actually gets upset with me if I open the door to let him out. Instead, I tilt the passenger seat forwards and he handles the rest.

It is great sitting in the school drop off line or the daycare parking lot and seeing the looks from the other parents. They probably think I'm crazy for driving a two door sports car with kids, but I think they're just envious...

Kind hard to do with 4 kids and 2 in car seats at the same time. I had to do the minivan thing for many years. :^( About the time the oldest started driving, I bought a '95 GT Convertible.

I love how every man is destined to mini van hell here, if they don't purchase a Mustang to haul the family kids. If a Mustang is your sole vehicle, there are soo many great 4 drs out there (many will run circles around a mustang) why would you deal with the headache? My kids wouldn't enjoy being squeezed in back of one at any age over 7. Fortunately mine are older 20 (drives her own car) & 13 with other vehicles to haul around in and I don't need to squeeze em in the back.

There's plenty of years to enjoy a car like a Mustang without squeezing people in the back, IMHO. Each his own.

I said it. I'm a SINGLE dad. It's just her and I. I leave the passenger seat all the forward and leaned forward and we go everywhere like that, vacations, trips, you name it. The very rare time there's a third person in the car, it's actually still not bad at all.

And frankly, there's no 4 door car I want. If it was a problem, I'd buy something else for me and her.
