  1. Quality control on these mustangs

Maybe Trump?? I decided to reply to this thread after reading everyone else's issues and seeing some of the ones I have repeated here. '15 GT - Ordered July '14, delivered Jan '15. Less than 25K on car. Regularly washed and waxed, garaged, etc... 1) Both door mirrors would take off on their...
  2. Console concealed firearm carry

M&P 40FS doesn't fit.... 1911 doesn't fit, 357 wheel gun barely fits, and my LC9 fits, but why? It fits perfectly in my pocket, even in dress pants...
  3. Gutting the cats

You know, I keep hearing that, yet my wife's Intrepid was subjected to tailpipe sniffers as part of annual inspection as a resident of Duval county Florida, and one of my Mustangs was here in NC because the custom chip the tuner wrote and installed, a Sniper chip, disabled/made unreadable a...
  4. What is this piece

Front spindle nut dust cap....or bearing cap. Supposed to keep dust out of the bearings to prevent premature wear/failure.
  5. Gutting the cats

Maybe not even that. From what I have read, the Mani-cat, as that one is called, is supposed to have the same restriction as straight pipe.... More from the bends in the tubing down stream than that cat.
  6. The 2016 Chevy Camaro Definitely Looks Different

"-and much like a Mustang..." Not sure what Mustang they're looking at, but looks more like a Supra to me... And I know it's a teaser, but hideous IMO from that angle.
  7. Is there a Mustang wave?

Ditto.... Read something once about the difference between a Mustang enthusiast and a Mustang owner.... There was a lot of truth to it. I still just do a general wave from the steering wheel. Usually two fingers and thumb up. Sometimes it's returned, more often than not these days, it's not.
  8. Who knew?

  9. Gutting the cats

I'm not trying to argue here, just educate, in case you are unaware, but it is a federal law, and here is an excerpt from the Texas Commision on Environmental Quality: Tampering is removing or making inoperable any system or device used to control emissions from a motor vehicle engine. The...
  10. Gutting the cats

Agree with Grimace here as I have made the mistake of gutting cats and getting caught on a sniffer. Had to pay quite a bit to have new cats welded back on, but I had them welded to a new piece of pipe that could be swapped on and off with a few good quality clamps. Still beat the hell out of the...
  11. Ceramic Pro 9h

Wow, weird that you posted this as I was online with a shop discussing this when it popped up. The shop I was dealing with pretty much has me convinced that OptiCoat is the better product, but then, a Ceramic Pro user would convince me that CP is the best. Seems like a matter of choise, but I...
  12. Rear Quarter Panel Rock Rash?

It's a normal characteristic of ANY soft compound tire. You should hear what DRs sound like when they are still warm and you're driving home from the track....
  13. Side mirror repair question

I would think DIY, but it might be a real challenge finding the part.
  14. What's this?

Kind of looks like a flux capacitor to me:D
  15. A/T Power Limit?

Also, keep in mind today's autos are a far cry from the ones most people heard about growing up which were terrible compared to manuals.
  16. EcoBoost burning oil during aggressive driving?

I was thinking by-product of cats and carbon from running rich ....
  17. A/T Power Limit?

And don't let anyone give you s**t for the A/T for the wife... I did the same thing since 5 of my last 6 'stangs have been sticks and she can't drive a manual.
  18. How much are you all paying for insurance?

If you can't afford $500 out of pocket, perhaps your payments are too high and you should be driving a cheaper car. $500 deductible IS piece of mind for me. In fact, I've been considering a $1000 ded.
  19. A/T Power Limit?

There are many posts on here attesting to it's ability to hold 1000HP.
  20. Posting from side of highway...

Wow, that is some damage! Like everyone else, glad you are ok. Everything else can be fixed/replaced. One thing that I haven't heard a lot of mention about here is potholes. I don't know Houston road, but that kind of damage is usually from a pothole or a curb. I too think you would know...
