I was switching my rear wheels last night and cleaning/waxing the wheel wells, when I noticed a piece missing from the frame. Is this just missing seam sealer or something to be concerned about? How would this happen?!

On the bottom it looks smooth so it’s apparent it wasn’t broken off. It seems it’s part of the build. Take it to a dealership and have them explain in more depth as to the whys and how comes and maybe their explanation will put your mind at ease.

Normal. There is a few more on the car actually if you climb underneath. That one is just the easiest to spot.

...Seriously? I searched google and other Mustang groups/forums and have not found anyone else mention this. Do you have any further reference on this please?

If you zoom in to the hole, there is also a small crack formed around the five o'clock position.

Edit: Just google image searched "S550 rear shocks".... Holy shit, you're right.

Yeah, I know it doesn't look right. But that's how they are made. There are other holes in the frame, this one just doesn't look like it was purposefully put there. There needs to be a means for air to get through otherwise trapped moisture is going to rot it from the inside out.
