Welcome to car forums, where the most common post is by someone with issues who is frustrated and needs to vent or wants help. That is in no way indicative of the overall quality of any vehicle, as the majority with no problems do not come on to post "Just dropping by to say that all is good."

Keep that in mind when you read a couple posts of horror stories, for those couple there are literally tens of thousands of these cars out there with happy owners. You will always have some few lemons out there, but they are not the norm.

The are so many things that can turn that light on that have nothing to do with the engine.

Technically, it is a "Malfunction Indicator Lamp".

But most car companies know if you have a warning light that appears not as important, people will ignore it. "Check Engine" has an inherent call to action, so it stays.

Dude 5800 miles in 2 months?? thats 35k in a year! wtfff??
it's a mass produced car meant to be driven. I just went over 10k miles with 4 months of having the car. Granted I did put 3500 miles on it in 2 weeks taking a road trip this month. Maybe a GT350 I wouldn't drive quite as much but a mass produced GT, why not? Its gonna depreciate either way might as well have some fun in it.

4k miles. Random CEL flash and engine making hissing/knocking sound which matches RPMs. It's at the dealer now and I have a thread on it.

Update: getting block replaced due to scored pistons.

Pulled a PO454 code after a gas refuel. Cleared the code. Drove the GT , refilled again and no return or pending. Took the plastic emergency fuel funnel and inserted it in the tank a few times. This should clear any dirt near the tank self seal. No other issues at all. Vapor code CEL.

I posted over on Moody's thread as well. I got mine with 17miles on it and it started right away with the long cranking time. I haven't heard any other noises, just embarassing to hear a brand new, sharp looking car sound like a 1970 cadillac trying to start.

I purchased a Mustang GT back in like 2007 that was misfiring but it was just a bad spark plug. Took it dealer and got it fixed and no other problems. With my new 2015, zero issues.
