My company started giving them out at headquarters today, I'm just waiting on them to ship here.

not for all of us.
I mean, technically it's still voluntary. It's either you volunteer or you go do a different job. It's not an FDA approved product, so I find it strange to think any branch of government could require it. Not doubting you, just making a statement.

I'm curious to know specifically what you're doing, but realize that's unlikely something you're able to share.

FWIW, I work at the largest academic medical center in the state. The vaccine is not required for any employee, nor is the flu shot even.

I’m under AMC. They can’t make the civilian side do anything.

Yeah, true. I'm not going to give up my dream career just to not take the vaccine though. I'm young and in shape, so if worst comes to worst I'm hoping i can tough it out so to speak. I didnt think it would be required either, but i recently got an email stating it being mandatory before training and even giving priority of training dates to those already vaccinated.

I'll be going to training for one of the three letter agencies as a servicemember.

the flu shot is always required for us.

The only thing it does is prevent the user from getting symptoms and/or having bad reaction to the virus.
and those assertions are not REMOTELY proven. Read the 'efficacy' paper. It's so incredibly flimsy it's not funny. Every previous attempt at a corona virus vax has failed miserably. We tried it with cats and cattle.

exactly. The flu shot is at best 50/50 in any given year. And some people get royally sick from just the shot.
That's because it really is a guess as to what the prevalent strain is going to be by the time it makes it here. Manufacturers/scientists make their best educated guess at what is being seen in the East and work to get something that is hopefully right. Some years it's bang on; others, it's not.

I used to very rarely get it, but do now as the alternative of masking up all day every day at work (before COVID) sounds miserable.

Like I said, strange, but the gubmint does strange things.

Oh, nice. Good luck!

agreed.

appreciate it!

I get my 2nd Pfizer shot tomorrow, my wife had COVID19 last month. All you on the fence, go to a hospital. Wonder why they won't let you in...
i will say, the hospital on base has been PACKED. only "essential workers" have been getting priority until recently, and each time they are distributing the vaccines there are 3 lines wrapped around the hospital.

Sounds like the military, as I remember it. When my wife got it last month, it was not pretty, not pretty at all, she works at one of the local hospitals here. She's mentioned healthcare workers who have gotten COVID19 twice. My wife is pretty scared to go to work.
