An old quote...And people like you play statistics to make it sound ok. Covid 19 has been around for about 3-4 months. You compare this to a full year of flu? The stats you are trying to quote are based upon a worldwide shutdown for a few months..... had that not occurred, there would be much much more spread and death.
As I said before, there is no arguing with stupid or crazy.
TommieHa! now you are telling me what I am thinking? You really need to put the the bottle down.
Pathetic.
I would think that areas like Montana, and other states that have under a 1000 cases and have not had many recently. By May 1st they could go to Zero new cases. I think June 1st, my prediction on another post, is still going to be when most of this is over. It would be safer to wait until then for the rest.Been reading thru this thread - shouldn't it be in the off topic/politics area? Anyway, does anyone seriously believe the US is going to just flick a switch and say, "everything is open, this is over, go back to normal"? We will do what everyone else will do, open things up in phases. Three EU countries are doing that starting this week - Denmark, Austria, Chech Republic. Norway will start with schools next week.
We are a few weeks behind, so May 1 is not that far-fetched for some areas to start to re-open. Social distancing is working, and will continue in some form for the foreseeable future.
Stay safe!
I agree somewhat, but assets can lose value. A billion dollars is still a billion dollars. True inflation can make it worth less, but other times like oil prices will make it worth more.I think we are about to find out the limit of the Fed/Gov printing press.
Money is not wealth. Money is proof of work. It’s an exchange system. Assets are wealth.
The Fed/Gov is about to print 357,142,857,142 hours of work. Inflation is coming.
True, but just like the shut downs over here were very deliberately planned and scripted, so are the re-openings. Couple examples follow:Been reading thru this thread - shouldn't it be in the off topic/politics area? They do get immune. That is why they are donating blood to make plasma to give to people. It is a century old technique. But as with most immunities, your body quits making them after awhile and then you can get it again.Maybe not the first time you get it. No one knows if we even build immunities.

Dengue fever is terrible the second time you get it. The first time is usually mild. The second time is horrible.
103 days. That’s how long we have known about this. We know nothing about this thing.
Simply not true. We are learning more about it all the time. And there is significant evidence that most who get it and recover have antibodies and will have either full or partial immunity.103 days. That’s how long we have known about this. We know nothing about this thing.
Also, looking at the demographics, it looks like if you are not over 65, not male, in good health, non smoker and not obese, you have a great chance of either not getting it or not much happens.Simply not true. We are learning more about it all the time. And there is significant evidence that most who get it and recover have antibodies and will have either full or partial immunity.
